Now that Ranma was returning, it was as a girl.
She hadn't asked for the curse, and had found it to be another sign of her father's stupidity. If she'd been asked, they wouldn't have gone on the stupid trip in the first place. But her father had been in charge, and that meant that they were going, whether it made sense to head over there, or not. And for all that travelling, they'd wound up heading to a place that had real curses.
Ranma-chan wasn't certain about what her wife would make of the fact that she could change genders with a splash of water. It was a bit much to ask a wife to take in, never mind one who was as forgiving as Kasumi. However, she didn't know what else to do, as she couldn't see herself missing a chance to reunite with the girl that she loved.
It was funny to think that the two of them were man and wife though. They were so different, with Kasumi being very sweet and gentle, while he was rough and tough. But they'd made it work, and he couldn't help wanting to hold onto the light that she brought into his life.
Having someone actually stop to pay attention to her was something that Ranma had never really considered happening before that first time with Kasumi. She'd been able to understand other contacts, but for someone to stop just to be nice to her was an unusual thing. For so long, she'd been lonely, and in an instant, a young man who only had his father for the long term had someone who actually cared enough to seek her out. At first, she hadn't known what to make of the girl who'd brought help and company to a boy who she didn't know. In fact, she'd felt a little... mean in letting her do this time after time. But when she tried to make her understand that it wasn't something that she had to do, a combination of her future wife's generous nature and her hurt look made it impossible for her not to let it go on.
And over time, she began to see other things about Kasumi Tendo that were worth looking over, such as the fact that she was a beautiful young woman. In the beginning, she'd merely noticed the fact that Kasumi was attractive, but when they started spending time together, she started to see that her new friend had a gentle beauty that was as rare as it was lovely. Over time, she'd found herself more and more attracted to the one girl who had actually taken the time to befriend her, until one day, she'd realized that she was in love.
When they had their first kiss, it was clear that her love was not only returned, but was shared in a way that could turn something totally unplanned into a special experience.
Marrying her had been something that she'd actually dreamed of, but Ranma had expected to be the 'man' for her. She wanted to protect and comfort Kasumi as her husband, not as another girl. Fortunately, it wasn't a permanent gender change, since she'd have to scream then. As it was, it wasn't something that she was liking at all. And she knew where to lay the blame for that, and other problems.
"Don't ya start up with me!" she snapped, not even looking at who she was speaking to. "It was all your fault!"
Genma-panda glared down at the female form of his son. "Growf!"
"Come on! Ya were the one who was scarfin' down the food on that 'first prize' table! 'Course she'd get mad!"
"Growf, growl!"
"Listen, if ya hadn't screwed things up in that village, we wouldn't have had to deal with all that mess!"
Her father merely gave off a huff of disgust.
Since she was used to it, Ranma wasn't about to bring up more of a mess. There had been too many screw ups to care about, and she had more important things on her mind. In fact, about the only good thing about her father's latest 'plan' was that she was going to go to the Tendo Dojo.
Right then, that was all she cared about, while:
