Coupled Union - Yamato Nadeshiko: A Gentle Pairing [Episode 147609]

by Kender

Kasumi let herself show a small smile as she realized what her father's words meant. He might not know it, but he'd just given her news that she was extremely pleased to hear. Not that she could tell him, even though she didn't like holding secrets.

Her husband, Ranma Saotome, was coming back to her. As his wife, it was her duty to wait for him, but she did wish that they did not have to part. She wanted to have him there, so that she might be able to be a proper bride. There had been times when she had imagined the two of them sitting together, and enjoying a meal as a married couple. Yet, it was her duty to support him in what he needed to do, and as his father had tasked him with continuing training, she had to wait.

Not that he had any real problem with becoming a better martial artist. She'd known that ever since they'd first met, when she'd been walking along, and come across a boy who'd hurt himself training. Seeing him wincing in pain had made her heart go out to him, and she had walked over to see if she could help. That had surprised him, and she had blushed under his clear show of happiness at her actions. She didn't really need to do much to have him open up to her, as he was a talkative young man. Most of it was clearly nervousness, but the fact that he wanted to put her at ease was something that she could appreciate.

Until then, she had never been really interested in younger men romantically, but there was something about him that was different. As she began to bring him actual meals to eat, and medicine to heal his injuries, he slowly began to show her what sort of person he really was. This rough boy had a drive that many older men would have been hard pressed to match. He also was open, innocent, and had emotions that ran deep. His knowledge wasn't sizable outside of certain fields, but he had little of the airs that other boys his age had. To be honest, in some ways, he was very mature, as he had experiences that others would never have.

And he'd seen her not as merely a food supply, or even a big sister, but as a companion. Simply having her in his life made him happy, and he had never stopped being appreciative of her. He couldn't stop from letting compliments out, as he simply said what he felt at that moment. Over time, they slowly became closer and closer, as their relationship shifted from friends to something more. Ranma started trying to give her gifts and doing things for her, and she began to feel more and more like an attractive woman who was with the young man who made her complete.

Their first kiss was not something that they'd planned on, but when it happened, she knew that this was not something that she'd leave alone.

When they'd married on that gently snowing day, she'd wanted her father there, but the situation had not allowed that. She hadn't been certain if he'd allow her to go through with it, but wanted to be Ranma's wife so much that she'd actually let it go through as it was. But other than that simple problem, that day had been one of, if not the, happiest day of her life.

And now her father was telling her that he wanted either her or her sisters to marry her husband. Knowing that brought up a whole lot of questions, but there was one overriding thing that pushed aside all the 'what ifs'. She was going to be able to be a wife to Ranma, and possibly could do it openly soon.

Being aware of that gave her all sorts of pleasant feelings while:
