Usagi, as it turned out, was not going to be the first contacted by the new advisor.
Rei concentrated on the sacred flame.
"Good. Good. Let mind clear be."
"Why am I getting martians in my sacred flame visions?" complained Rei Hino.
"Hmmmm. Hmmmm. Irony this is." The little green man chuckled and wiggled his ears.
Rei snapped her eyes open to regard the little fellow in the flames. "You're not a kami."
"No. Many things I am. Advisor, yes. Teacher, yes. Sage, perhaps. Being of light and spirit, that I am. What are you, yes?"
"Akuryo taisan!" tried Rei, throwing wards towards the image.
The little green figure held up a hand and the wards neatly stacked into that hand. "Hmmmm. Work on this you should. Talent you have. Patience you have not. Wisdom you must learn. Destiny hard to fight is."
Rei frowned some more. "Who are you?"
"Yoda am I called. Learn control you must. Talk more to you I will, when ready you are."
The nine year old girl frowned as the muppet faded from view. She was ready now, damn it!
