All the various assembled Senshi nodded in unison.
"It can't be," said Sailor Pluto, running her hand over the stone of the Time Gate and accessing a holographic keyboard. "In order to do something like that, I'd have to override protocols, discard..."
"Yes?" said Sailor Venus, fairly politely all things considered.
"This can't be," said Pluto.
"Uh hmmm," said Mercury, Venus, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
"Someone overrode the protocols, defeated the security measures, made a massive alteration in the timestream, and then locked the changes under a 147 character passcode," said Pluto. "But who knows enough about the Gates Of Time and temporal mechanics to do it?"
"I wonder," said Usagi with uncharacteristic sarcasm.
Sailor Pluto looked back at the Senshi, then back at the Gates. "Me?"
All the various assembled Senshi nodded in unison again.
"When you indicated your curiosity about what caused the initial rift between the Earth Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom, and I pointed out the potential dangers," said Mercury, "I indicated my concern about the possibility of contamination? You stated you had precautions. I'd say they were... insufficient."
"Oh dear," said Pluto, looking very pale for someone who was normally very tanned.
"Setsuna-chan," said Usagi. "Mamo-chan is a girl. Not a guy who turns into a girl. A girl. The Time Gate is tuned to 1985, and I can see little Mamoru Chiba is braiding her hair and making cookies. How is Chibi-Usa supposed to be born now?"
"I... I..." Sailor Pluto said, looking even worse somehow. thunk!
"She fainted," observed Venus.
"Well, that was no help," observed Mars.
Mercury briefly checked her computer. "We know that Usagi managed to purify the dark stain out of Pluto. We know that there are some guys still around. There are a lot of guys who turn into girls and some who don't change but stay guys. Some of the guys who turn into girls turn into Senshi."
"Some of the girls turn into magical girls, and it's more than just Senshi," added Mars. "There are Sailor Senshi, Magical Maids, Mystical Nurses, Wedding-dress Warriors, Elemental Haremgirls, Dark Princesses, Seifuku Sorceresses, Magic Knights, Spandex Superheroines, and so on and so forth."
"They're organizing tournaments?!" asked Jupiter, pointing.
1986:
"Welcome to Nerima Big Brawl Dome," said the Announcer, gesturing at the building behind her. "As you know, magical girl battles have become quite the distraction and cause serious property damage. To help contain such problems (and incidently generate revenue by filming it) we have made these arenas available to the general public. If you have a grievance, this is the place to take your fight."
"Now they start coming up with rules and conditions, special laws," said Mercury, frowning. "This is so strange."
"Sailor Senshi fighting Dark Princesses, and now they make appointments? They have to schedule battles?" asked Mars.
"Fighting outside the arenas is severely frowned upon," pointed out Jupiter. "Some of the police are magical girls now too."
