She honestly never really figured out how Ranma Saotome became such an important figure in her life. She had never been active when it came to guy hunting, both in her former life and the life she had lived in Soul Society. Then again, love works in mysterious ways. That seems to be a universal fact.
The odds of a marriage lasting between a mortal and a Shinigami were against the couple. To put it simply, they were from two different worlds. She had her responsibilities as a Shinigami and he shouldn't be involved with her because of that.
What made things worse was the fact that she held a high rank amongst the Shinigami residing in the Court of Pure Souls. To allow love and all the trouble that came with it to rule her heart would cause nothing but trouble.
But somehow, she knew that things would work out. After all, her husband often boasted that "Ranma Saotome doesn't lose". With the way he overcame the obstacles that had popped up through his life, she couldn't help but place a lot of faith in him.
"Madam? It's time to make our rounds," said Hanatarou. His medical kit was strapped on to his black haori, the standard Shinigami uniform. He waited until she had changed from her Gigai to her Shinigami form.
"Of course. By the way, it's okay for you to call me by my name once in a while. If I recall, I think I ordered you to call me by name off duty," said the woman as she strapped on her zanpakutou (Soul Slayer). It was in its basic form and looked like a standard Japanese katana. Being married to Ranma had allowed her to feel more at ease with her peers.
"I m-must have forgotten. I'm sorry..."
