However, he didn't even get to knock as the door opened, shocking him, as Professor Oak stood in front of him. "Why, hello, Ash."
"Huh? How'd you know that I was coming?" the hopeful trainer asked.
"It's a very simple piece of equipment."
"What do you mean? A camera? Some kind of scope?"
"A window. You do know that there aren't that many plants above grass height here."
"Oh. Right."
"I do suppose that you're here for your pokegirl," commented the professor.
"Do you know everything that I'm going to do?"
"Of course not. I actually thought that you were going to sleep in."
"Who? Me? Well... I guess that I just wanted to get going so bad that I woke up real easy."
"I see...." Oak murmured to himself as he looked over at the boy. Sure, there did seem to be something a little off, but the enthusiasm was all Ash, and that could go to explain much at the moment. "Then I guess that you want to get right to it."

And a ball of that colored light came up in front of him, which he saw would be a clear indication that they were connected. Almost instinctively, he reached out and touched it, which gave him the oddest feeling all up and down his arm. It surprised him, and he wasn't certain about what he should do. But when the ball of energy began to look like it might leave, he reached out and grabbed it. Doing so seemed to have done something, as the column of light disappeared.
Yet, in his hand was a pokeball, and he realized that it meant that he'd gotten what he'd come for.
"Hmmm. Looks like you are a summoner now," Oak drawled.
"I am?" Ash breathed, wondering if he'd actually managed to do it.
"There is only one way to find out. Call out your pokegirl."
"Uhh.... Sure."
"Alright then."
Swallowing hard, Ash opened the pokeball, and out of it came his pokegirl, who was a:
