Now, he just needed to focus in on which of the sets of pairs wasn't an alcohol induced double image so he could impress them with his fortitude and skill.
Stranger A looked to his partner and gave him a small smile that was returned. "I believe that we can handle this, can't we?"
"If that is what he wants, that's what we'll have to deal with," Stranger B replied.
"That means that you have yourself a deal, Mister Saotome."
"All you have to do is to sign this document."
"Wha?" Genma grunted. "Where?"
"Right here."
"Oooh... Need a pin."
"No problem," Stranger B told him, and handed over a pen.
"Thanks."
The two men smiled at each other as they watched the drunk man scratch down his name on the document, never really stopping to read what he was signing. Of course, even if he'd been sober, and had stopped to read it, he might have had a problem with the jumble of legal terms. But that didn't matter, as they were getting what they wanted. With this act, they could take the girls and the boy back to their own country, as line 24A specified, and once there, they could set things in motion for the future. Each of the children would be properly nurtured for their future roles, and as soon as it would be possible, the breeding of super powered girls would be able to begin in earnest, thus giving their nation an edge in that future time.
And their only obstacle had been this easily tempted man. It just seemed to be too simple to be true, but then, they weren't going to question their good fortune. They'd just take it for what it was, and continue on, happy that they had a chance to succeed with so few problems.
"They can't really think that they'll actually get away with this," grumbled the career sergeant sitting in a van near where Genma Saotome was proving how much of a drunken idiot he could be. "I mean, we know what kind of guy he is, and they know we know. So why go with that sort of plan."
The young captain with him grinned. "Don't worry, Sarge. It isn't like they'll be that clueless for long."
"I know that, kid. But why not just get 'em now? They're right there."
"True, but we want to make certain that we get all of them. Besides...."
"What?"
"We don't want to let any other guys have any clue that we've been watching that so called 'father'."
Sarge let his smile match the one his boss had. "So they'd come in, never knowing that we'd be seeing them too."
"Exactly."
"Poor guys. They'll never know what hit 'em."
"I do so like this job sometimes," the captain agreed, while:
