What he was able to tell was that the same red box with the same red lettering was showing on each tube.
That it wasn't in any language he understood made it all more difficult.
While the room was huge, he could see one wall besides the one with the door and stairs he'd just come through. He left Ukyo in her tube to go see what was on this one.
About halfway there he stopped and looked in on a naked Shampoo in a tube filled with liquid EXACTLY like Ukyo had been. If he didn't know better he'd think she was asleep, but seeing the life-readings at zero he knew that wasn't right. At least he thought that was what they were - they looked kind of like the readouts from a medical TV show.
Was everyone dead? What was up with all this? Who was going to fix lunch?
Finally he reached the wall and saw down its length was something else. He figured that he'd been gone about three hours since entering the room, six hours since waking up. His stomach growled to let him know that while his situation was severely abnormal and the world had gone insane, biological processes continued. Hence the increasing importance of a meal in amongst his thoughts.
On finding that the object he'd seen earlier was an odd chair and computer console, Ranma quickly sat down and activated the computer.
Of course, it was in that weird language again, but he found a way to switch it to English. Not his best language, but at least it had some familiarity. Now the red message was legible.
Touching the box of red lettering brought up more text, which Ranma had to puzzle over.
When he had puzzled it mostly out, it brought a chill up his spine and he had to look over the tubes again to assure his frazzled nerves that nobody was sneaking up on him.

Bringing up Ranma Saotome in another box came up with:
Subject Not Acquired In Phase II Study. Unable To Process, Convert, Replace.
So he was himself. That was a relief. On the other hand, he quickly set in another name.
Status: Subject Name:Akane Tendo.Acquisition Phase I Successful. Acquisition Phase II Successful. Processing Of Original Complete. Conversion Halted At 100% Physical, 45% Memory Download. Unable To Complete Transaction.
Tapping on the word Conversion brought up detailed technical schematics. It took even longer to figure out what THAT meant other than this Akane was some form of humanoid machine.
Again he swallowed nervously, this time touching the phrase Original to bring up the status of the real Akane and find out what happened to her and the all these others.
