Samantha held up a hand. "Hold on a sec. What you're telling us is that if the guys find a woman that they can really connect with, they won't have to worry about the fall outs from the changes?"
"It's a possibility, though we can not know for certain."
"This is not something that can be predicted with total accuracy, given the information that we have at present. By what we know of at present, we'd only be able to come up with theories."
"Which, while entirely possible, and likely, to occur, can not be thought to be absolute."
"As such, we must do more research."
"What would you need, in regards to this 'information'," Janet asked thoughtfully.
"Only what would be quite simple. If we were to have information regarding males of your species who have connected with their 'special one'."
"To know if there is any detectible alteration when they do that."
"Exactly."

"Possibly. Brain chemistry can change, depending on different variables. If finding and getting their 'special ones' sets off the correct neurochemicals, it could cause following reactions that could give them the changes that they need to survive."
"Wow. Well then, how do we help it out?"
"Simple. Let the guys on base know that you're available."
"Okay... I..." the blonde started before turning to stare at her friend. "Janet!"
"It's simple, Sam. The only way that we could find out if it was wrong or right would be to get couples. And for that to happen, we need to see about getting guys together with girls."
"Ohh...."
"But please understand that time is short," Hugin reminded them. "Much as we would wish to assist you, if our time is up, either by having to leave, or the rapid decline of your males, it would be too late for anyone to do anything. It might not be absolutely what may happen, but we must not ignore the possibility."
"Trust us. We won't ignore anything," Sam commented softly, while:
