Who the hell is this Kazuki Shikimori?
I take it you never heard of Maburaho?
…Ohhhhh! Yeah, I remember now: Eight-Magic-Points-Till-Death Guy with the three hot chicks after his genes. Ah, what the hell? I’ll pick him.
Very well. You are 16-year-old Kazuki Shikimori, but you don’t use magic period. Your dad was a good friend of Pegasus’ so he scored you some good cards he best thought reflected your inner strength.
Say what?
You run an Exodia Deck.
…You’ve gotta be kidding me! Of all the kinds of deck types, why the hell do I get Exodia?!
“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.”
At least tell me I got Fiber Jar as well.
…
Just f-ing perfect!
It’s just that this program runs similar to Nightmare Troubadour for the Nintendo DS.
Give it to me straight, you double-crosser!
Until you win certain events, 1) You cannot use the Forbidden cards from the March 2005 Advanced dueling format, and even when you’re allowed you can only have ONE Forbidden card per deck; and 2) same goes for the password machine, which costs you 1000 KP. That’s short for Kaiba Points, which you earn in duels and puzzle-solving.
I hate you, you CPU from Hell.
Flattery will get you nowhere with me. Now, where was I? Oh yes, your character! Eventually, with a lot of practice at one of Kaiba Corporation’s duel arenas, you master using Exodia and learn how to defeat your opponent even without it. In Battle City, you get up to five locator cards but lose to a disguised Ishizu Ishtal before the finals. However, your skills impress her that she gives you a parting gift: Exodia Necross and Contract with Exodia.
Not bad.
Today you are on your way to the entrance exams for the Duelist Academy. In order to get accepted, you must defeat an examiner in a duel. If you pass, you’ll be accepted into one of the three dormitories, depending on your skills. These Dorms are… Obelisk Blue (the top dorm), Ra Yellow, and Osiris/Slifer Red, which is deemed the lowest at the Academy.
Hmm, I got a pretty good idea where I’m probably going to end up. Anyway, how about my starting gear?
Let’s see… Clothing, Semi-decent People Skills, Duel Disk (with Dueling Deck inserted), Card Generator/Password Machine, Card Trunk (currently empty), and 1000 DP in trouser left pocket.
That’s it?
You chose a seemingly meek character. I’m afraid that’s all there is to him.
Can we look at my deck at least so I can see what cards I have?
Bringing up deck screen now. Please wait.
Hey, a new feature. Split my deck between my monsters and my magic/traps.
Separating and counting cards. Done! 24 Monster cards and 16 Magic and-or Trap cards. Listing Monster cards now.
Okay, I got the five pieces of Exodia, plus Necross… Skelengel, Giant Soldier of Stone, Sangan, Mystic Tomato, Alligator Sword, Man-Eater Bug, Magician of Faith, Cyber-Tech Alligator, Maha Vailo, The Unhappy Maiden, Wall of Illusion, Earl of Demise, Sonic Duck, Copycat, Mystical Elf, Avatar of the Pot, Trap Master, and Mask of Darkness. Semi-decent pick, but some of those can and will be replaced once I get some better cards.
Loading Magic/Trap list now.
Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, Reverse Trap, Eternal Rest, Backup Soldiers, Thunder of Ruler, Remove Trap, De-Spell, Trap Hole, Soul Reversal, Kunai with Chain, Trap Jammer, Time Seal, Wall of Revealing Light, Stray Lambs, and Scapegoat. God, this deck’s pathetic! No way am I gonna pass the exam with this junk.
Don’t worry. You have an hour before your exam. Plenty of time to pick up a few card packs at the nearby card shop.
Hold on a sec! I just remembered there’s an updated Forbidden List that goes into effect next month. And some of the cards in this deck are on the list-.
Now don’t get excited. As I mentioned before, this program follows Nightmare Troubadour, so the only banned/forbidden cards are those on the March 2005 list. You’re safe.
Whew! For a sec, I thought I’d have to get rid of Pot of Greed. That made the new list.
Oh, wait! What’s this up ahead? Someone’s calling for help. Shall we take a look?
I got an hour before my exam, right? Let’s take a look.
