Text-Based Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Dames, Cards, and Posibly Future Trouble? [Episode 149735]

by (The Looney Tune-y) Robster80

It’s Yuna!

Now don’t get ahead of yourself. Yes, it is Yuna Miyama, or a girl with similar features and hair color, and she’s being assaulted by three boys with blue jackets. You recognize the emblems on the jackets as those from Obelisk Blue’s dorm. One of them, a tall student with brown hair and a broad nose, steps towards the girl, who has her back against a wall.

That’s as far as he goes! Let’s stop him! Rush at them and shout: “Hey, leave her alone!”

They all look towards you as you rush up. The leader scoffs at you because of your size. “Beat it, punk,” he says. “This is Obelisk Blue business.”

“Since when is it Obelisk Blue’s right to torment others? Leave her alone now!”

”Or what?” The leader walks towards you. “What can you do, shrimp?”

Suddenly, there’s another shout, this time from the other end: “Hey, what’s going on here?!” The three Obelisk Blue students turn to see a tall blonde woman running towards the scene. They panic and run, and with good reason: the woman is Mai Kujaku. She rushes to the girl and asks if she’s okay.

”I’m fine,” the girl replies with a grateful sigh before looking at you, “thanks to his arrival. He showed up before those guys could steal any of my newer cards. I just bought some new packs to try and help for my exam today, and got excited at some of the cards I got that those boys wanted to take them from me.”

Bow and say “Glad to help.”

Mai notices your duel disk and asks “Are you another duelist taking the entrance exam for the Dueling Academy?”

Smile and reply “Yes, I am.”

Mai smiles. “Well, good luck to the both of you, but watch out for those three and almost all of the other Obelisk Blue students. Those three you helped stop, their leader is called Nakamaru, one of the three top second year students of the dorm. And he can really hold a grudge. Anyway, I have to get to the exams myself. Hope to see you both there.” And she leaves.

Go to the girl and ask: “What’s your name?”

She bows and smiles at you. “I’m Yuna Miyama.” Suddenly, she looks at you funny. “You look familiar,” she adds. “What’s your name?”

Reply “Kazuki SHikimori.”

At the mention of your name, Yuna’s eyes widen and she glomps you in a big hug. You blush form this, especially since you can feel her chest against yours. “I knew it,” she states, “It IS you, Kazuki! Oh, it’s been way too long.”

Heh, barely into the game and already I got a girl who likes me. Blush and ask politely, “We’ve met before?”

Yuna breaks away, still smiling. “I’m not surprised you don’t remember. It has been a few years.” She then reaches into her pocket and pulls out a card to give you. “Here, maybe this will help you remember. I got extras over time so I’m glad I can give this to you.”

You got Amazoness Swordswoman (EarthWarrior/4/1500/1600, effect: The Battle Damage done to the controller of this card as a result of battle is done to the opponent).

”Well, I have to get going. See you at the exams, Kazuki.” Yuna runs off, waving to you.

She’s soooo hot. And this new card’ll work wonders for my deck. Still, let’s hit a card shop before the exams while there’s still time.

You still have 55 minutes before your scheduled duel. And there’s a card shop right near the exam site. You make it with 32 minutes to spare and enter the shop. Surprisingly, Mai is there talking to none other than Yugi Mutou himself.

Hot damn! Say “Hello, Mai. Fancy seeing you here.”

”Likewise, kid,” Mai replies. “Yugi, this is the kid I was telling you about.”

Yugi smiles at you. “Welcome to my family’s shop. Mai said that she met you earlier and that you almost remind her of me and Jonouchi when she first met us. Now I see why.”

“It’s because of my height, isn’t it?”

At this, Yugi laughs. “Kinda, but I sense you have a good heart and a strong bond with your cards. May I see your deck?”

“Sure. Let em know what you think.” Hand over all cards in deck.

Yugi and Mai look through your cards, their eyes widening at several cards. Yugi then gives back your cards. “Wow,” he states, “I haven’t seen a legitimate Exodia deck since my Grandpa’s deck years ago. But remember, just because Exodia and his counterpart Necross are in your deck doesn’t mean they can win you the duel. My advice would be to buy packs and keep changing your cards to throw off your opponents.”

“Thanks, Yugi. I’ll remember that. Oh, since I’m here, could I buy some card packs?”

With a nod, Yugi pulls out four different card packs. “These are all I have right now, and they cost 150 KP each. Each pack has 5 cards.”

You may pick from:

Miracle of Nature: features mainly insect and low-stats monsters – a real beginner’s pack

Shadows of the Labyrinth: includes several good spell and trap cards plus strong monsters. Better selection than the previous pack.

Mechanical Trap Power: more traps than spells, but very effective. Also features several unique monsters.

Flight to a New World: mainly winged beast or dragon monsters in this pack, with some decent spell and trap cards.

Okay, so… what to pick, what to pick… How many points do I have again?

1000.

Say to Yugi, “I’ll take one of the Mechanical Trap Power and one of the Miracle of Nature for now.”

Points deducted and 2 packs received. Open now or later?

Might as well not wait till the last minute. Open them up.

You just received:

Big Eye (Dark/Fiend/4/1200/1000, FLIP: See the 5 cards from the top of your deck, arrange them in any order desired, and replace them on top of the deck.)

Dragon Zombie (Dark/Zombie/4/1600/0)

Blue Medicine (Spell: Both you and your opponent gain 400 life points.)

Just Desserts (Trap: Inflict 500 points of Direct Damage to your opponent’s Life Points for each monster your opponent ahs on the field.)

Basic Insect (Earth/Insect/2/500/700)

Polymerization (Spell: Fuses 2 or more Fusion-Materal Monsters to form a new Fusion Monster.)

Grappler (Water/Reptile/4/1300/1200)

7 Completed (Spell/Equip: Increase a Machine-type monster’s attack or defense by 700.)

Red-Eyes Black Dragon (Dark/Dragon/2400/2000)

Metalmorph (Trap: Increase the attack and defense of one monster by 300. Then, when the equipped monster attacks, increase its attack by half of the opponent’s monster that this card attacks.)

Whoo-hoo!!!! I got some choice cards here! Now I think I’m ready for my exam. Let’s go! Oh, wait! Face Yugi, bow, and say, “Thank you very much!”

Suddenly, Yugi asks you to wait and give you a new pack of cards. “This is a new promo pack my Grandpa’s going to give out later. I’m sure he won’t mind if I give one away early. There’s 8 cards in that pack.”

Sweet!! “Thanks again, Yugi!” Exit, and now let’s get to the exams!

You arrive just as one exam ends between a man with blond hair wearing a blue suit and a teen about your age in a red jacket. The blond man is appalled by his loss and the winner is placed in Osiris Red Dorm.

Shoot, looks like I missed a heck of a duel from the audience’s reactions. Oh well. How am I fixed for time?

27 minutes before your exam. We can go register right now, or watch the next match, or walk around and talk to other duelists. Your choice.
