However, all her musing was cut short when a strong elbow jab interrupted her thoughts.
"Would you stop it?" Akane hissed as they sat in the family room, waiting with their father and eldest sister for the expected arrival.
Nabiki blinked at her younger sister, and tried to act as if she didn't already know what she meant. "Stop what?"
"'Stop' reconsidering what you picked to wear."
"How do you know that I'm doing that?"
"You're so into it, you're not acting all cool, like you normally do. And you're fidgeting like you're not certain that you're clothes fit you."
"I am?"
"You are. And stop worrying. The way that you look now, he'll be glad that you're his wife."
"You think so?"
"I know him."
The elder girl smiled slightly, and smoothed a hand over her above the knee skirt. With the button up blouse that she was wearing, she was looking stylish, without seeming to be dressed up. Yet, there were little touches that made it sexy, like the way that her legs were shown off rather nicely. Cloth was pulled just tight enough over her bosom and backside to follow almost all the curves, without looking pasted on. Then there was the fact that her top was unbuttoned to the point where a hint of the valley between her breasts could be seen, tantalizing any guy who would see it.
For once, she had to agree with Akane's observations without reservation. She was dressed so that no one could complain, but she could easily let her husband have a good, and pleasing, view of her. Then maybe he might want to celebrate his return with her in the privacy of her room. Ever since she'd met him, she'd thought that he was a hunk, and going as long as she had without being in his arms was a bit frustrating. And she really wanted him to find a way to find happiness in her embrace, so bringing him to her bed was no problem at all.
And when the sound of a knock on the front door echoed down the hall, she nearly jumped.
Fortunately, her father hadn't noticed, as he leapt to his feet and towards the door. "It's got to be them!"
With her heart in her throat, she began to look around herself for some answer as to what she should do. Staying would seem to be the proper thing to do, but she really didn't want to do that. On the other hand, she suddenly felt unaccountably shy, worrying about how her husband would take meeting her after so long. She was torn on that point, and actually didn't know what to do.
So, when Kasumi put a hand on her shoulder, she looked for guidance from her elder sister. "Go."
"'Go'?" she parroted.
"Go."
"Get out of here, already," Akane put in, smirking mightily.
"This is about your heart."
Throwing thankful glances at her sisters, she bolted from where she'd been sitting, and trailed after her father. Her speed was enough to get there just as he was opening the door, and when he did, her heart stopped. But it wasn't because of anything bad, or any notice of the fat guy on the walkway.
Standing there was Ranma Saotome, looking a bit more weathered, and travelled then before, but was more wonderful as well. His eyes widened as he saw her, but when the surprise settled into recognition, a pleased expression came over his face, and it was clear that he wanted to see her there in a good way. That did more than any words could have for her, as it told her that the old magic hadn't suffered because of the physical distance between them.
And that allowed her to relax and smile at him, which was simply wonderful, while:
