Considering how close that last duel was, I better save the game now.
Saving game... done.
Now what?
As the duel holograms clear up, Amy walks forward and holds out her right hand. "Well done, Mr. Springfield."
Shake hand and say: "Well, that last turning point was pretty lucky for me."
"Luck or not, a victory is still a victory. Follow me back to the administration desk and we can see your overall grade that will determine your dorm for first year." Amy hopped off the platform and started walking towards the desk.
Follow her. And the academic program goes for multiple years?
These Dueling schools are sort of like private schools and colleges in a sense. You get a general program in first year and then you pick a specific path you want to pursue that is related to the gaming industry in higher years. In Kaiba's school, there's a program for people who want to pursue the business side of gaming. Then there's the game design program and a program for aspiring artists. Graduates from these schools usually find employment in the gaming industry quickly since the Academy certificate is like the equivalent of a diploma and the fact that the gaming industry is expanding rapidly means more labour will be demanded by firms.
That's neat.
Like a normal college, you pay tuition fees along with living expenses. Seto Kaiba has made an effort to keep tuition fees and lodging fees at a reasonable level so that lower income citizens could have a chance. He also set up several scholarships for his school with different criteria (financial need, academic excellence and so on). The reason why he's somewhat generous in this regard is that he can probably remember his own childhood when he had very little before the chess match that changed his life.
Cool.
As you and Amy approach the desk, the workers behind it are busily checking scores and posting final grades up on an electronic bulletin board. You can see Yuki's score, which stated that he be placed in the Osiris Red dorm at the start of the year.
What about me?
It's coming up and your overall score places you in the Obelisk Blue dorm for your first year. At the end of certain periods in the term, the administration will check your grades. If they slip a certain percentage, they'll put you in Ra Yellow and if they slip a lot down to the minimum acceptance standards, they'll place you in Osiris Red. If you flunk, you have to take remedial courses and a remedial exam. Amy briefly congratulates you again before she headed off for her break.
So now what?
The Prologue Stage is more or less complete. The only thing you can do now is to try getting to know some of the characters that you'll be interacting with at the Academy on a regular basis. A few of them are here such as Professor Chronos and you'll meet the rest at the island. Otherwise, we skip to the next stage which is your first year adventures at Duelist Academy. So far the schedule is a big orientation party where you can get to know some of your peers for first year. Dinner, some events, maybe some duels and so forth. Then you get into your education and subsequently, the random story element that you'll get to play out.
What I want to do right now is...
