"To the left, five meters. Almost. Almost. THERE!" came the voice of Sailor Mercury.
Vegita looked down into the water, not seeing a whole lot that was different here from any other spot.
"The spot is directly below you. The sea floor is about forty meters below you, and you'll need to control your power carefully and work slowly to avoid destroying your island."
Vegita grunted, signalling his understanding. He put one hand up and gathered power into a sphere of energy.
"Can you concentrate it into higher density?" asked Sailor Mercury's voice.
The sphere shrank from a brightly glowing beachball to a marble-sized sphere that resembled the end of an industrial welding torch.
"That's it," said Mercury's voice.
Vegita brought the sphere to the tip of one finger, then pointed that finger down. The ball became a beam.
The beam hit the water and the water parted in a fine spray away from that beam. It went deeper and deeper, plunging first through water then silt then mud and finally rock.
He had a kingdom, even if it was weak humans. In order to make a strong kingdom of Vegita, he would need to make a number of changes. There were no other saiyajin to rule over, therefore he had to go with humans. A weak kingdom of starving and unhealthy humans was absolutely unacceptable, but there were ways of making them more acceptable.
Right now, that meant developing resources for those humans.
"I still think I can take him," grumped Sailor Uranus.
"You do realize that he's currently digging a shaft through solid rock at a rate of forty-five meters per second?" asked Sailor Mercury after making sure her mike was off.
"I just wasn't ready for him," tried Sailor Uranus.
"The problem here is getting him to control his power as opposed to blowing up the island," said Sailor Mercury before switching her microphone long enough to state "Just a little bit longer. You're right on course."
"I could take him," said Sailor Uranus, unconvinced.
"Are you able to sit down yet?" asked Sailor Pluto, holding an icepack to her rear.
"Well, no," admitted Uranus. "Not without some pain at least."
"Then wait for your healing to finish before trying anything," said Pluto.
"Five," said Mercury, switching her microphone back on again. "Four. Three. Two. One. Okay, Vegita-san, the lava field is now vented to the surface. Increase the power slowly by 5% increments. There. Stop. You're done, Vegita-san."
"So what happens now?" asked Sailor Moon, lowering the binoculars after it was obvious that nothing spectacular was going to happen.
"It will slowly vent out, building up an additional section of island. We can then use geothermal energy from that region as a power source for the island," said Mercury. "Though there appears to be some interesting mineral deposits nearby."
"Yeah yeah, but I can take him, right?" said Uranus, looking to Neptune.
Nabiki counted herself lucky. She had not taken the genie seriously, had made a wish that had come very very close to blowing up in her face, and had survived.
Akane might be ranting about the surprise and how she could have beaten the little shrimp, but Nabiki had her doubts about the result of a Vegita Vs Akane battle ending in Akane's victory.
Uncle Genma had come down through the roof of the dojo after meeting Vegita and making an unfortunate comment about a 'third rate Son Goku.' Her own father had gotten tossed through a window. Again, Nabiki considered herself lucky. Considering what COULD have happened, she counted herself very fortunate indeed.
Of course, once she'd explained what had happened (the two fathers had paid her) - the result was hardly what she would have preferred to happen. Especially as word had gotten out and everyone in the neighborhood now knew when they saw videos of Piku-piku being ruled by a little spikey-haired fellow and throwing tanks around like children's toys - everyone knew that this was Ranma Saotome. Sort of.
What really concerned her was:
