And she didn't even want to think how insulting and cold Ranma would likely be.
Of course there was an upside in all this mess. She might have had her heart forced in another direction, but that didn't mean that she was totally submerged in some inane lust or made into a simpering idiot. Rather, it was more like connecting on an emotional level, and having something akin to a 'true love', even if she doubted that it went quite that far. But the analogy fit, as she knew that no matter the connection, she was still basically the same person that she had been. There would be no illusions about the relationship, and she knew that things would still happen, like talks, presents, disagreements, and fights, though she was certain that there would be no major problems with Ryoga. She knew all about him, so there would be nothing sneaking up on them.
Though, she was starting to see that there would be certain things that she could see would be bothering her, at least in part. Here she had been, putting so much of her heart into his hands, and the next thing that he had done was to vanish. That just brought his direction problem into focus, and she knew that it would be something that would likely annoy her, even if they travelled together. He kept on coming back, but with him unable to not get lost, she'd be stuck with waiting a lot of the time. Not that she blamed him for that, as it wasn't like it was his fault that he had inherited that problem.
Yet, she wasn't simply a 'damsel in distress' who waited for things to happen. If her 'special one' was lost, she'd go and find him. Her life was likely to go crazy, and she at least wanted him at her side for it all. That meant that she'd have to find him, and luckily for her, she had a secret weapon that her transformation had given her.
"Okay... I know his scent.... Weird, but okay," she muttered to herself as she crept around the area, sniffing the air as she went. "Hmm.... Got his trail. He went this way...."
Akane tracked that scent, going around the back of the school, and down to the playing field. From the equipment shed that was there, she went off the grounds, down the block, turned left, went four blocks over, turned right, travelled for another two blocks, turned right again, followed the scent for five blocks, made yet another right turn, headed up three blocks, made one last right, and found that she'd managed to get back to the school. Wondering how Ryoga got to go anywhere, she travelled back across the schoolyard until she reached the front of the building.
And there, she saw some bushes shaking as if something was crawling within them. She crouched down, and pulled the branches apart in a search to see what it could be. For a minute there, she imagined that Ryoga got lost oddly this time, but as her eyes adjusted, she saw something else that was welcome.
"P-chan!" she chirped, happy to see her pet, picking him up to cuddle to her chest. "It's good to see you!"
The piglet seemed torn between cuddling back, or running for his life.
"It's odd though.... You smell like Ryoga...."
That got the small animal to stiffen up.
"Why could that be?"
If one had not known better, they would think it amusing that the pig looked like he was praying.
"Hmmm.... I know!"
At that moment, the pig's expression seemed to say, 'I'm bacon.'
"He must have stopped to help you out! There's so many dangers in the city, so he must have carried you over to some place where you could be safe. And since I'm here, he must have picked this place! But I do have to wonder why he didn't tell me about it."
All the tension left the piglet as he let out the breath that he'd been holding.
"But you're so dirty. It must have been because of were you were. Don't you worry though. I'm going to clean you up real quick, even if I have to use the the showers in the girls' locker room. With a little soap, and a lot of hot water, you should be fine."
Every little bit of terror was back and magnified for the pig, but his attempts to squeal in distress and slip away failed as she held him as firmly as she could. It seemed that she was intent on making certain that he was clean, and as such, there was no way that she was going to let him go. As a result, he was stuck as she carried him to where she would try to clean him, and where things might get very dicey for him.
P-chan had tried to get away long before this, but fate seemed to keep him there. He'd gotten away from the school, and had been prepared to head out to find a cure for himself. However, someone had moved around things on him, so that he wound up back where he'd started, and in this position.
Now, all he could do was hope for some sort of miracle, while:
