Text-Based Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Classes and Club Activities [Episode 150169]

by Yasanagi

First off, is there anything interesting during the orientation dinner?

Not really. Each dorm has their own orientation dinner and unfortunately for you, there'll be separate parties for the guys and the gals.

Damn!! Where else around the campus grounds can I look for girls?

There are the Obelisk Blue dorms but for obvious reasons, the girls have a separate dorm from the guys with a lake acting as the separator. There are the Ra Yellow dorms and the Osiris Red dorms. Then there's the athletics centre with a tennis court, swimming pool, a basketball court, a baseball diamond, several other courts that can be used for other sports (such as badminton or perhaps martial arts) and a hockey arena. Last there's the Main College with several classrooms and computer labs, a card shop, a cafeteria, a medical facility, Duel Arenas along with the administrative office. And those are the locations that are currently unlocked. As for locked locations, when you get more duel wins under your belt, you can unlock additional locations that could possibly play a future role in the story element.

Do I have enough time to look around?

The dinner is technically in three hours and you shouldn't be late. You probably won't find any girls since all of them are going to get ready for their orientation dinner. Even though it's a light social event, you know how ladies often spend hours getting ready for things.

Crud. In that case, let's skip ahead and get things kicked off with the first day of class since I probably won't be racking up any social points with girls at the orientation dinner.

Very well. Nothing much really happens at your orientation dinner anyway except a lot of male students just enjoying food, drink and chatting about guy stuff. You spent the meal getting to know your roommates better and now the three of you are better friends to each other. The only interesting incident was when you bumped into Manjyome Jun, self-proclaimed Duel King of the Academy. He was busy fiddling with his PDA and ignored you completely. After the dinner party ends, you and your roommates go back to your dorm to sleep for the night.

Maybe I can use Shingo's connection to his sister to hook up with her friends...

That's only if they are in this game and on campus. You breeze through your first day of classes and share a laugh with the class when Yuki Judai embarasses Chronos after the Professor picked on his friend Sho. After you finish all your classes for the day, you are free from 4 PM to Lights Out (which is at 11:30 PM meaning that any student caught wandering outside their dorm after hours would face disciplinary action). You also have homework assignments which would take about two hours to do overall. But they aren't due until the next class which is one week from now. Currently, you have just exited the Main College.

How's my class schedule like anyway?

It's kinda packed but it can't be helped since you have several mandatory courses to take in first year. You have classes from Monday to Friday at differing times but to keep things simple, you won't have that much time for girl hunting between 10 AM and 4 PM with two lectures, lunch and physical education. You could choose to skip class if you prefer.

Well, you can make my avatar attend class but I won't have to listen through the lectures since you'll take care of my written exams anyway. Wish that worked in real life with college.

So now what do you want to do? Hunt for girls?

You got it! I got plenty of time so let's head to the Athletics Centre and see what's running.

As you approach the Athletics Centre, you see several booths that have been set up by different sports clubs, with the hope that they can recruit some new members. You notice that the clubs currently recruiting are the hockey club, the tennis club, the basketball club, the baseball club, the swimming club and the kendo club.

Maybe if I join a team, I can attract more girls to me. Let's check out the kendo booth.

Before you can make your way to the kendo booth, an enthusiastic Japanese male dressed in attire appropriate for playing tennis matches comes up to you. "Welcome, friend! You looking to join a club?"

Say: "Maybe."

"That's awesome! Why don't you join the tennis club? It'll really give you a good workout! By the way, the name is Momoshiro Takeshi but call me Momo-chan!" said the young man with a grin.

A character from Prince of Tennis, eh? Say: "I'll skip out on the Momo-chan thing. And to be honest, I'm not much of a tennis player."

"It's no problem! I'll be more than happy to help you get the hang of the game! So what do you say?" From the look in his eyes, he looks a bit desperate.

Desperate? Say: "You seem adamant on getting me to join your club. Turnout not being so great for you guys?"

Momoshiro's grin drops and he sighs. "Yeah. So far, we haven't gotten a lot of new members for the upcoming season and most of our regulars are nursing injuries that they got from last season's elimination matches. If this keeps up, we may have to skip out on the doubles qualifier matches coming up in a month."

Say: "How about this? Why don't you duel me? If you win, I'll sign up for the tennis club."

The young man regains his energy quickly. "Really? Awesome! Follow me to the tennis court and we can duel there!"

Follow him.

He makes a brief stop to his booth to grab his duel disk and asks another member of the club to keep an eye on things at the booth. Then you follow him to a tennis court and move to one side while he faces you. He inserts his deck into his duel disk and prepares to activate it. "Let's do this!"
