It wasn't that Ranma was particularly eager to go through the same path that he had before, but even he knew that to suddenly shift his entire life to being Mary Marvel could have its problems. Part of being a superhero, even one stuck becoming a superheroine, was trying to keep problems down. And if he were to be suddenly pulled from his father, then he couldn't fix them, and a lot of them would get in his way. Having a 'secret identity was pointless when one abandoned it, especially since that same one didn't want to be only the heroine that he'd become.
Besides, this was his chance to go and make certain that he didn't make the same mistakes that he had before. The last time around, he'd been forced to go through a huge mess, and now this was his chance to make certain that everything wasn't all messed up. After all, it'd be nice to be able to talk to Shampoo without the initial series of attacks, or the constant glomps of later. Perhaps now he could have a simple and good relationship with the Amazons.
One could hope, even if it was unlikely that it'd go as perfectly as he might wish.
So, having convinced the wizard that he wasn't totally offended by having to turn into a busty girl when he did his superheroics, Ranma walked out to find his father, who was supposed to be waiting for him. Of course, his old man was never very good at waiting around, and was likely thinking that he'd get some 'chi improvement' or something like that. Being able to turn into a girl was something that'd be rather... surprising, and would likely turn the old man on his ear.
With a smile for that thought, Ranma stepped out of where the wizard had been hiding, and found his father anxiously waiting, while:
