Another Level Monster huh?
Yes, this one levels up during your standby phase.
I see. Set Tailor of the Fickle and summon Lvl 3 in attack mode.
Your swordsman with a big helmet and bigger sword arises to the field.
Good. I can’t damage his Life Points until I attack directly or hit a non-fairy monster, but I can still take out his monsters and keep him from getting anything bigger to the field. So let’s attack the ball with Silent and Venus with Mystic. Then end turn.
Right. Your swordsmen launch a dual attack, wiping out Gendo’s monsters. Thanks to Sanctuary in the Sky he takes no damage.
Your turn ends and Gendo draws a card. “Very well then. I first use Fissure to destroy your Mystical Elf.” The ground itself opens beneath your defence monster, quickly swallowing it whole. “Next I place one card face down. Then lastly I summon The Agent of Wisdom – Mercury to the field in defence mode.” A blue winged and skinned monster rises to the field. (4/0/1700) “That will end my turn.”
You draw one card, Negate Attack (Trap).
Not much use here, but I can Level Up Silent Swordsman anyway.
Your Standby phase arrives and you swap out Lvl 3 for Lvl 5 who is bigger and carries a sword so huge Cloud Strife would be green with envy. It is also unaffected by Gendo’s spell cards, but to level it up it has to make a direct attack on your opponent’s life points.
One attack coming up! Set Negate Attack and then smack his Mercury monster with Lvl 4!
Your Mystic Swordsman attacks but Gendo activates a facedown card, Heart of Clear water. “I’ll equip my Agent with this card. All monsters with less than 1300 attack points cannot be destroyed in battle.” Your swordsman strikes, but Heart of Clear Water keeps it alive.
Dammit! But I have a plan. End turn.
Your turn ends. “Thanks to my Agent of Wisdom, when I have no cards in my hand at the end of your turn I can draw two cards.” He draws a pair of cards and nods to himself. I now play Pot of Greed to draw another two cards.” He draws again putting two more cards into his hand. “Next I summon Warrior of Zera in attack mode.” A muscular and green armoured warrior monster arrives on his field. (4/1600/1600) “Next I equip him with United We Stand, which grants him 800 attack points for every monster on the field, even himself!” (3200) “Now, attack!”
Crap again! Negate Attack!
You use Negate Attack, halting the warrior’s attack short. Gendo then ends his turn.
Zera isn’t a fairy, so if I blast him I can do some damage. Draw.
You draw Pot of Greed (Spell).
Play it.
You draw two cards, Magic Cylinder (Trap) and Level Up (Spell).
Level Up?
When you use this card all conditions to level up a monster are bypassed and you bring the next monster out right away.
Sweet! Set Magic Cylinder and Level up Silent Swordsman!
“I now play Level Up to bring out Silent Swordsman Lvl 7!” You call out. Your swordsman is exchanged for one with more tones muscles and a slightly bigger sword. It also negates all spell cards on the field. (7/2800/1000) Zera is back to his default strength (1600) and Heart of Clear Water won’t help Mercury now.
Attack Zera with Lvl 7 and Mercury with Lvl 4!
Your warriors strike twin blows, wiping out both monsters.
Tenchi: 2700 LP Gendo: 3600 LP
“Blast you!” Gendo shouts out.
End turn and Level Up Mystic Swordsman.
Since Mystic Swordsman Lvl 4 destroyed a monster this turn it is replaced by the more athletic and regal appearing Lvl 6. (6/2300/1700)
Gendo draws a card, and grins widely. “It now ends. First I activate my face down card, Monster Reborn to revive Warrior of Zera! (4/1600/1600) Then I sacrifice him for this... Archlord Zerato!”
Zera grows a set of shiny silver wings and he gains a more regal apperance. (8/2800/2300) To summon him he can only offer Zera and Sancuary of the Sky has to be on the field, even if it’s effect is negated. Gendo then discards another card. “Now I offer a Light Monster from my hand allowing me to destroy every monster on your field!” Both Silent Swordsman Lvl 7 and Mystic Swordsman Lvl 6 are destroyed.
SHIT!
“Now Zerato, attack and end this duel!” Somewhere in the stands you see Relena and Lina watch on, looking worried.
Magic Cylinder! Magic FUCKING Cylinder!
You counter with Magic Cylinder causing Gendo’s jaw to drop as Zerato’s attack is re-aimed at him.
Tenchi: 2700 LP Gendo: 800 LP
Whew...
“So what? I will destroy you next turn Mr. Masaki. You will not be in this Academy.”
Say “What’s your freaking problem anyway?
“As I said, it is not your concern.”
Yeah right... But still I need a VERY good draw, all I’ve got is Amazoness Blowpiper, Double Spell and a facedown Tailor of the Fickle.
Gendo’s turn ends. You draw Card of Sanctity.
It’s a start. Play it.
You draw four cards, Monster Reborn (Spell), Cold Wave (Spell), Amazoness Paladin (4/1700/300), and Marauding Captain (4/1200/400).
Perfect! I know exactly what I’ll do! Activate Monster Reborn!
I should point out you can’t special summon Silent Swordsman Lvl 7.
I’m not, summon Mystic Swordsman Lvl 6.
But it doesn’t have the attack power to match it!
Just do it!
Okay, Okay... You play Monster Reborn and revive Lvl 6. (6/2300/1700)
Activate Double Spell, discarding Cold Wave to fuel it.
You discard Cold Wave to activate Double Spell. What spell do you want from his grav... wait...
Yup, United We Stand! Equip it to Lvl 6
This is gonna be evil. Gendo frowns slightly as you get United We Stand. You equip it to Lvl 6 (3100)
Now summon Marauding Captain and use it’s effect to summon Amazoness Paladin.
You summon Marauding Captain and through it’s special ability you summon Amazoness Paladin. (1800) She gains 100 attack points from herself since she’s an Amazoness monster. United We Stand also grants a larger boost. (4700)
Now attack with Lvl 6!
Mystic Swordsman Lvl 6 attacks and swings it’s twin swords at Zerato. Thanks to Sanctuary of the Sky Gendo takes no damage.
Too bad for him. Use Tailor of the Fickle and move United We Stand to Amazoness Paladin.
Gendo visibly drops his jaw as the card is moved to your Paladin. (4200) Lvl 6 goes back to his original attack. (2300)
Attack and end this duel!
Your Amazoness Paladin attacks Gendo’s Life Points directly, charging in towards him and swinging her sword in a wide arc.
Tenchi: 2700 LP Gendo: 0 LP
Silence hangs over the arena for a moment. Then as one every student that has ever had a class with Gendo cheers at the top of their lungs, the sound echoing in the building.
