Gundam Seed - After War: Hard Times for an Informant [Episode 151408]

by Yasanagi

When she entered the chamber to check on her companion, she noticed that there was no source of light in the room, save for the blinking bits of light from the various computer consoles in the room and the screen which occupied her companion's attention. Ever since the emergence of the new faction known as the Obsidian Abyss, her companion has been working extremely long hours to find information. She watched him as he slammed his fist against a wall. "Dammit!!"

"I haven't seen you this distressed since the Regenerate Gundam incident," commented the female as she idly toyed with a playing card in her hands.

"This goes far beyond that. This new group has astounding security on their information. If I want to regain my control over the transfer of information, I need to crack their code." Kenov Rukeni ran a hand through his bizarre hairstyle before grabbing the last Space Pocky from the small glass that rested near his station. "I've been able to at least keep track of their skirmishes."

"Really? Any interesting weapons and mobile suits worth looking at?" Elisa Asanya leaned in to see some video feed that her companion was able to obtain.

"See for yourself," replied Kenov as he typed in a command. She saw footage of the Gargoyle Gundam engaging the Freedom Gundam with both suits almost matching each other in terms of mobility and speed. She watched the Juggernaut Gundam fire several missiles and its Schlag cannons to wipe out entire Alliance mobile suit squadrons. She watched the Eden Gundam change beam weaponry in the blink of an eye from a beam sabre to a beam axe as it ruthlessly displayed its mastery at close quarters combat.

"Impressive. Far more formidable in power than the Astray Red Frame," murmured the Fashionista Pirate.

Kenov spoke again. "The three prototype suits you just saw were originally built by ZAFT from what I was able to pull up. I did some digging in their database but it seems that the data for those suits had been deleted. They also were able to get a good number of ZAFT suits and ships for their own military. And then there are these new mobile suits that participated in recent battles."

The screen changed again to show an image of a DoMZ unit. "A peculiar design. How is the suit's combat ability?" asked Elisa.

"Easily surpasses the GINN and the Strike Dagger and has a bit of an advantage over a GuAIZ. Hell, these suits were even able to give two of the Alliance's old G-Weapon prototypes some trouble." Some footage of the battle with the Duel, Buster and the DoMZ units came up.

"Well, those two prototypes are almost a year old and they'll eventually be out of date. But I would still take those suits," remarked the female.

"Especially since all you have left is your old GINN 'Tempastar (Storm)' and that's definitely out of date." This earned the informant a glare from Elisa. "Just stating the facts, my dear."

"I know. I'll leave you to your work," said the pirate before she left the room.

**********

'In the history of mankind, discrimination has its roots buried deep within the minds and hearts of people. This is something that needs to end.' Gilbert Dullindal sat in his office and simply stared at a lone chessboard on his desk with black pieces on one side and crystal pieces on the other.

Back in the days when he worked in Mendel, he came up with a concept called the Destiny Plan. When this plan is fully implemented, there will be no more conflict and people, Natural or Coordinator, would be assigned proper roles in which to maximize their usefulness to society. As things are right now, he is in no position to start anything. But that will change.

Right now, the current conflict has to be resolved and the Abyss properly dealt with. Then after he moves himself into a proper position to play the game, he will make the first move.

Gilbert ceased his staring and got out of his chair. Until the opportunity arises, he thought it would be best to see how his trump chess piece is doing at the Academy.
