So, Ranma easily dodged Shampoo's first strike, which was to be a downward swing at his head. Instead of an impact, he sidestepped her assault, and let her swing glide right past him. That allowed him to twist about and step quickly away, as she started to try to use her bonbori on him. Luckily for him, he was easily able to walk backwards, dodging every swing that she sent at him.
Though the slowness of her strikes confused him, he put it down to mere disinterest in the fight. That was good for him, as he could use that to his advantage. After all, if she didn't want to fight him, all he had to do was to stop her long enough to make her see reason. Beating her would not be the point. Rather, he would try to keep her to where she couldn't attack, and that would make much easier to talk to her.
With his plan in place, he decided to use his knowledge of her to help him out. On one dodge, he pivoted on one heel, and sent a counterattack at her, in the form of a quick jab. That surprised her, and she tried to dodge it, managing to get it to barely graze her arm. But was only the beginning, as her attempt to get him back for that turned into an attempt to block, as she found his hand coming again for her shoulder. But this time, his foot went behind one of her ankles, and when her upper body moved back under the first attack, he pulled that leg out from under her. Doing so made her fall, but she managed to do a flip to get to her feet again.
Emotion clouded her eyes for a moment, and she charged forward, getting him to dodge the expected attack, while she moved quickly to get him from his side. However, as she tried to do it, he leapt up, and somehow did a loop around the head of her weapon. Had she not been trying to actually fight him, she would have been impressed, but she was too busy for stuff like that. Instead, she took her other bonbori, and swung it in a horizontal slash. For most girls, that would be a sign of a good fighter, but she didn't get any of the results that she had been looking for.
Ranma wiggled out of the way of her attack, and grabbed her by the collar and flipped her over his shoulder, slamming her into the ground. Her back arched up as she impacted into it, and her mouth opened in a loud exhale of breath... right before she went limp.
Cologne blinked several times before turning to look at the teenaged boy. "Look's like you win, young man."
For a moment, he simply stared at her, unable to comprehend the facts of what she'd just said. When it did sink in, he realized that this was exactly what he'd been trying to avoid. And in the face of that information, he did the only thing that he could think to do.
He looked up at the sky, and glared at it. "DAMN IT TO HEAVEN! THIS IS SO UNFAIR!"
"Now, that's an interesting reaction," the Amazon matriarch murmured. "What seems to be the problem?"
"I didn't want to beat her!"
"It's a little late for that."
"I know! It just stinks! Now, she'll have that whole 'guy beat me, so I have to marry him thing going', which was what I was trying to make not happen!"
His words made some of the Amazons take notice, but Cologne merely raised a brow. "You were?"
"Yeah! And now she'll be forced to come after me because of some dumb law!"
"Well then."
"Huh."
"You should know something," the Elder told him. "This is:
