Kasumi had a power that a normal everyday Daxamite did not have. Nor did humans. Apparently the combination of something in human genes and Daxamite genes unleashed some potential.

Kasumi's power was a magnetic one. She had an easy time dusting because she could attract dust (or repel it) when she applied her will to it. It was simple and useful and she rarely used outside of household chores. The only other times being when the wind was high and blowing from one of the local construction sites, and then she simply kept the dust and dirt from getting on her.

Nabiki's unique power was likewise simple but was leading her to a potentially lucrative career. She picked up languages very easily and was already fluent in seven (Japanese, English [though for reasons she didn't understand - she had somehow picked up an Australian accent], Chinese, Russian, German, French, and Korean). She had a basic grounding in five others (Farsi, Norwegian, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Ancient Egyptian [reading only].) As she WAS under scrutiny, her more mercenary habits had to be suppressed so as to give a favorable impression. It simply would not do if her prospects in corporate Japan were scrapped because she acted as a high school bookie.

Kasumi didn't know how different she was from the version Ranma had encountered prior to this little twist in the timeline. She was mainly the same, except that she (as the one with the strongest reaction to lead) ended up with a perfectly valid reason to rarely leave the house. She took diphenhydramine for some of the symptoms, which helped but tended to make her drowsy. Nabiki was very different - and was looking over career choices where her gift might be of use. Including computer programming since that was a sort of language.

Akane's manifesting power had also had an effect on what kind of individual she became. In her case, that power was:
