You get Pot of Greed (Normal Magic).
Finally! My turn for card advantage! Play it.
You get Magicians' Cross (Instant Magic) and The Unhappy Maiden (1/0/100).
Magicians' Cross?
You can only use this when you have two face up Spellcaster monsters. Those two monsters count as one monster and have an attack strength of 3000 until the end of the turn. And that 'combined' monster can't attack so basically, this is a defensive card to protect your monsters from stronger monsters attacking it. By the way, Sho just activated his face down card which is Power Balance. Since you have a total of four cards in your hand and he has no cards in his hand, you have to discard half your hand and he gets to draw the same number of cards discarded.
Prick!! Discard Shield Wall and Dark Wall of Air. Set The Unhappy Maiden and end turn.
Sho now has a small hand of three cards after drawing for his Draw Phase. He freezes when he sees a particular card but he decides to focus on his other two cards. He places one card face down but decides not to attack and risk triggering a Flip Effect.
Reasonable thinking but that won't get him too far. Draw card for Draw Phase.
You get Life-Shortening Treasure (Normal Magic).
Now we're getting somewhere. Set Magicians' Cross and then activate Life-Shortening Treasure.
After placing a card face down, you draw five new cards and get The Shallow Grave (Normal Magic), Magician of Faith (1/300/400), Breaker the Magical Warrior (4/1600/1000), Axe of Despair (Equip Magic) and Tsukuyomi (4/1100/1400).
Summon Breaker and have it destroy Sho's face down card.
Now Sho only has Steam Gyroid on the field.
That's dead along with the rest of his Life Points. Flip Summon Apprentice Magician to put a counter on Breaker. Then equip it with Axe of Despair.
Breaker now has a counter and boasts an impressive 2900 attack while your Apprentice Magician is ready for the killing blow after you destroy Steam Gyroid.
Attack Steam Gyroid with Breaker!
"Hold it! I'll activate an Instant Magic card from my hand... Class System! If your monster's level is not higher than my monster's level, then your attack is negated!!" Steam Gyroid blows a raspberry at you since it has Six stars which is clearly greater than Breaker's Four stars.
PRICK!!! End turn.
Sho draws a new card and freezes at the card he just drew. The expression on his face suggests that he's not sure about what he should be doing. One minute passes and he's still looking at his two card hand.
He only has two cards in his hand! How can he take so long to make a move? I mean... he only has so many options at this stage in the duel.
But recall that he's not so sure of himself a lot of times. And because of his past, he may want to avoid certain dueling options which depends on the situation.
In that case, I'll give him a little nudge. Say: "Is this the extent of your resolve? Is this as far as you can go?"
He then gets a determined look when he hears your words and begins to make a move. "First, I'll use the magic card De-Fusion to split Steam Gyroid back into Steamroid (4/1800/1800) and Gyroid (3/1000/1000)!" He now has two monsters on the field.
The hell?
"And now... I'll unseal this card and show you my resolve! I activate Power Bond!!" His magic card fuses his monsters back into Steam Gyroid but his monster's attack has doubled to 4400.
I need stats on Power Bond!
Power Bond (Normal Magic). This is treated as Polymerization and can only be used for Machine fusions. A Fusion Monster summoned this way has its attack strength doubled. At the end of the activated turn, Sho will take damage to his Life Points equal to the original attack strength of the monster. He's basically betting everything on this card and orders his powered up Steam Gyroid to squash your Apprentice Magician.
Not so fast! Activate Magicians' Cross!!
Your Instant Magic card combines Apprentice Magician and Breaker into one monster with 3000 Attack Points. Steam Gyroid destroys your combined monster and deals 1400 points of damage to you, bringing your Life Points down to 300. Sho is dismayed at this turn of events and collapses to his knees, knowing that he'll lose the duel because of Power Bond's backlash effect. And that's exactly what happens at the end of his turn. The holograms clear up and you are the victor.
