Text-Based Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Fumble [Episode 152094]

by Yasanagi

For your draw, you get Apprentice Magician (2/400/800). When it is successfully Flip Summoned, Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, you have to put 1 Spell Counter on a face up card on the field that you can put a Spell Counter on. If this monster is destroyed in battle, search your deck for a Spellcaster monster, level 2 or lower, and Special Summon it to your side of the field in face-down defense mode.

I guess it works with Breaker the Magicial Warrior and it can help me get out some of my Flip Effect weenies. Set it and then enter Battle Phase.

"I'll take the time to activate my trap card! Destruction Ring! With this, I can destroy any one monster on the field and deal 1000 points of damage to the both of us!" Sho's trap card transforms into a ring and then the ring attaches itself to his Steamroid before blowing up. His Life Points are down to 1500 and yours are down to 1100. Sho is quite shocked. "I thought I could destroy your Gemini Elf!!"

What just happened?

Nothing in particular. Sho didn't read his trap card carefully. He has to destroy one of his own monsters on the field to trigger the trap's effect. By his loud groan, he just figured that out. Looks like he still needs some practice on his dueling.

Too bad for him. Attack and end the duel!!

Sho glanced at his hand to see if anything would help and by the look of hope on his face, he has something to play. "I'm not out yet! I'll use the Instant Magic card Hyper Refresh!! This doubles my Life Points if your monster's total attack is higher than my Life Points and when I have no monsters on the field!" After his Life Points shoot up to 3000, he takes the hit and now his Life Points are the same as yours at 1100.

Pretty close call for him. End turn.

Sho draws a new card and plays it. "I'll use the magic card Roll of Fate! With this, I can roll a six-sided die and whatever the result is, I draw that many cards from my deck and discard that many cards from my deck to my graveyard!" A holographic die appears and Sho initiates his roll. He gets a four so that means he draws four cards and discards the top four cards of his deck to his graveyard. "Now I'll use the magic card Pot of Greed to draw two more cards!" Sho's hand is back up to six cards.

You really love rubbing the fact that he has card advantage, don't you?

Anyways, Sho activates Upstart Goblin to draw an additional card. As a result, you gain 1000 Life Points to go back to 2100. He then summons Cycroid (3/800/1000) in defense mode and places two cards face down before ending his turn.

Draw for Draw Phase.

You get Big Bang Shot (Equip Magic). A monster equipped with this card gets a 400 point boost in attack power and whenever it attacks an opponent's defense position monster, if your equipped monster's ATK is higher than the opponent's DEF, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, the equipped monster is sent to the graveyard.

Hmmmm... I'm a bit worried about his face downs but I think I can risk it. Equip Big Bang Shot to Gemini Elf and attack Cycroid for the win.

Gemini Elf's attack power goes up to 2300 and the twins begin their assault. Your attack goes through, his monster is destroyed and the extra damage is about to hit his Life Points. However he activates a trap card called Reduction Barrier which decreases any Battle Damage to his Life Points to one-tenth of its original value. So his Life Points only go down to 970.

Damn! End turn.

Sho draws and activates the magic card Polymerization to fuse two monsters in his hand, Gyroid and Steamroid to summon Steam Gyroid (6/2200/1600) from his Fusion deck. He then activated the set card on his field which is a trap card called Reinforcements to boost his monster's attack power to 2700. He orders his monster to destroy your Gemini Elf and your Life Points go down to 1700. He sets his last card face down before ending his turn.

Draw for Draw Phase.
