'This outfit is so silly. As long as Gourry and I are in private, I have no choice in the matter,' Lina thought with a bit of anger and some embarrassment. 'Stupid Gourry, why did he have to say that about how I look?'
Lina quickly cut off her thoughts, as she felt a presence. She winced when she realized what she would have to do and the rules that went with it.
Master! Wake up!
Gourry struggled, as he slowly woke up.
"Wh-what?"
Master, be quiet. I sense hostiles. You can think it and I can read your mind.
'Why are you calling me 'Master', Lina? ', Gourry thought.
Telepathy is highly formal. Speaking or thinking to myself, I can use your name. But using this, I have to refer to you as 'Master'. This is not the time for this. I sense three powerful hostiles and a bunch of trolls. Lina sent, as her clothes shifted back to her normal attire.
Gourry frowned, as he grabbed up his sword much to Lina's disgust.
'Okay. I don't want to fight in a crowded room. Is there a way to get out into the open?'
You could wish it or order me to teleport you away from here. We leave and they are none the wiser for where we went.
"How far?" Gourry whispered.
Lina frowned, as she thought About halfway to the next village if you order a teleport. As to a wish, name the town or city and I can take us both there without a problem.
"You wanted to meet Prince Phil. I wish we were near the village closest to Prince Phil," Gourry muttered.
Wish granted Lina thought, as her eyes flashed.
Both Gourry and Lina vanished in a swirl of red magic. A few seconds later the door was busted down and Zelgadis and his crew came into the room.
"This is the room that they were staying at," Zolf said. "Where are they?"
Zelgadis hummed a bit as he examined the room. He walked over to the bed and put his hand on the mattress.
"They were here and quite recently. The bed is still warm. Judging by the way things look, one was asleep and the other stood watch," Zelgadis said. "This is going to be tricky in capturing that ring, but it should be worth it."

Appearing at a very small and obscure village, Lina breathed a sigh of relief as Gourry tripped and fell face first in the mud.
"Sorry Gourry. I'm still new at teleporting others."
Gourry rubbed some of the mud off his face and stared at Lina.
"Lina, is there a way to free you?"
"Even if I knew any way to free myself, I could not tell you," Lina responded automatically. 'Why did I say something like that? I know of several ways that might free me.'
"Why not?"
"I can't tell you that either," Lina responded with a look of frustration on her face. 'That ditz has really screwed me up.'
Gourry knelt before Lina and put his sword across his knee. "I promised to be your bodyguard. I now promise I will find a way to free you from this."
Liana's face made her red hair look washed out
Gourry stood up and looked at his clothes. "I guess I should get cleaned up."
"You could make a wish or order me to," Lina said.
Gourry shook his head. "I don't want to do that to you."
"If I don't grant wishes or follow your orders, I'll starve. I'm sustained by the leftover energy from a wish or an order," Lina explained. "It's a nice little trap. I don't want to grant wishes or follow orders, but I have to if I want to live."
Gourry sighed and said, "All right. I wish my clothes were no longer muddy."
Lina snapped her fingers and Gourry's clothes and face were quickly cleaned by Lina's magic.
Lina mused, 'I could have come up with so many ways to screw that wish up and still follow the lettering of the wish. I know why I don't.'
