Dilgear returned with the statue to Rezo. The wolf/troll hybrid waited as the Red Priest picked up the statue.
"It's not in here!" Rezo shouted, as he tossed the statue to one side. "Where is Zelgadis?"
Dilgear gulped, as he replied, "He's helping Zolf track down Lina Inverse."
"Right," Rezo said, as he went over to a crystal ball.
He cast a scrying spell and saw/felt where Zelgadis was and what he was doing. Rezo frowned, as he heard Zelgadis tell Zolf his revenge was cancelled. He perked up when he heard about Lina Inverse's new condition.
With a creepy smile on his face, Rezo nodded. "You are right Zelgadis. That is more valuable than the Philosopher's Stone."
Rezo continued to scry and saw/felt the bit when Zelgadis and company broke into Lina and Gourry's bedroom and the vanishing of the two.
"Dilgear, take some trolls and go help Zelgadis out. Also take him a message. I now know of what happened to Lina Inverse as well, bring her to me."
"I don't understand," Dilgear said.
"You have your orders. I need to work on a scrying spell."
Dilgear bowed and left Rezo, who was busy working on a new spell.
"If your magic ability has gone up Lina, you should be incredibly powerful," Rezo said, as he cast another scrying spell.
He saw/felt the small village where Lina had teleported the two of them to and heard their conversation.
"Oh no, Gourry Gabriev. Lina Inverse needs to remain bound to that ring you currently wear," Rezo said softly. "If she does have the stone, I'll just pound the stone into dust and have Lina turn herself into a liquid and mix it in to her. It should increase her powers even more. It will be like having Hellmaster or Vrabazard at my beck and call."
Rezo tilted his head back and laughed. Far away, Lina felt cold shivers.
"Ironic. Lina Inverse was obsessed with valuable magic treasure, and now she has become valuable magic treasure."
