"Everyone," said Ami, staring. "What?"
"Rei saw some visions in the sacred flame," said Makoto, looking past Ami into the apartment as if looking for something.
"You did?" asked Ami.
"Yes, I saw your mother about to be attacked by a pack of ghoul scouts who were trying for a Dark Kingdom merit badge in cookie sales," said Rei.
Ami stared.
"That was pretty much everyone else's reaction too," admitted Rei.
"Uhm, well, this really isn't a good time," said Ami, thinking that if they came in - that would pretty much blow Ranma's secret if he chose to go that route. And shouldn't that be HIS decision?
"The thing is," said Rei, pushing past Ami, "that what I see in the sacred flame are metaphors. The images mean something other than what they're directly showing."
"Yes, well," said Ami, fidgeting as everyone else filed in. "Let me get you something to drink and we can try to figure out what that could mean."
Bleep! went the Mercury Computer.
"What was that?" asked Usagi.
"I think it was Ami's computer," answered Makoto, still looking around as if she was hoping to see something.
"What's that scent?" asked Minako. "It's kinda nice."
"It's probably nothing," said Ami.
A low groan came from elsewhere in the apartment. Sweat drops began appearing in Ami's hair.
"What was that?!" asked Usagi, more alarmed than at the beep.
"It sounded like someone in pain!" declared Rei, standing up.
"It's probably nothing," repeated Ami. This time she got out her Mercury computer though.
She saw something on it that caused her eyes to briefly bug out. Then she put it away again. "Ah, false alarm. Maybe we should have this meeting somewhere else. I think my brother got ahold of something that made him a little sick, and we should probably not wake him up."
"He's sick?" Minako stood up. "Nurse Minako is on the chase!"
"I really don't think that's a good idea," said Ami, having no need of precognition in order to see a disaster here.
"Maybe some chicken soup," mused Makoto aloud.
"That's okay, really," said Ami, feeling that at any moment the situation was going to completely disintegrate.
Another groan, a door opening. Ami had her back to the bedrooms but had a full view of her friends' faces. She could hear behind her as someone shuffled towards the bathroom and then closed that door.
Mouths had dropped open (except in Minako's case where she was grinning like a maniac), eyes staring and glazed. She could guess what had happened. Ranma typically wore his boxers when asleep, and had slept-walked to the bathroom before in that condition.
"He's... been working out," managed Makoto.
"Uh HUH," agreed Minako.
"Hmph, boys," said Rei, finally recovering except for the blush.
"Ami-chan's brother looks pretty healthy," said Usagi.
