She and her fellow trainees would form a new squadron of Seraphim. They would go out to bring the light of the Emperor to humanity. Usagi would protect them from heretics, aliens and mutants. Usagi was still in her usual daydreaming as she looked at the big chronometer on the wall. She noticed to her horror that she would be late for the Morning Prayer again. Prioris Haruna would be furious with her... again.
After the Morning Prayer and a thorough scolding by Prioris Haruna, Sister Tsukino was relieved. Since she and her team were already assigned a mission, Prioris Haruna was not able to punish her for her tardiness.
In the following mission briefing she learned that she and her teammates would be shipped to a world at the eastern fringes of the Empire of Man called Darwinus today. Local members of the Ordo Hereticus had asked for reinforcement, since the number of exposed heretics had skyrocketed in recent weeks. Usagi and her fellow Seraphim were part of the vanguard of this reinforcement.
Such occurrences were unfortunately only all too common and happened daily on dozens of worlds of the Empire of Man. But this was what Usagi and her sisters in arms were there for: to protect humanity from the clutches of heretics. Her superiors saw it probably just as some kind of training exercise. But she and her teammates would tackle the problem, root out all heretics and protect the good people of Darwinus.
A few hours later
As Usagi boarded the Imperial Transport, she stopped and turned to look one last time at her home world. Today would be the first time that she would leave her home world. She prayed to the Emperor that nothing bad would happen during her two-week voyage through the warp.
Two weeks later, outer fringes of the Darwinus system
It had been the most boring two weeks in her life. She had disassembled and reassembled her equipment over a dozen times, her bolter pistol was cleaner than it had ever been and she desperately wished for something to happen. Just as she did so, various sirens began to blare and red lights began to flash. Crewmembers were running to their battle stations and they were informed over the ship's intercom that various creatures of the Immaterium had been detected as they closed on the ship. Usagi fell to her knees and prayed silently to the Emperor, that she really didn't mean it when she wished for something to happen.
Fortunately the ship left the warp space before the creatures of the Immaterium could close fully with the ship. Unfortunately they found the world they were to reinforce under assault by those thrice damned Eldars. They would need to break through their orbital blockade before they could land on Darwinus. That would be real tough, because they just had the Transport and an escort of a pair of Sword class frigates.
