Intrigued, and feeling suspicious, Shampoo turned to look at the speaker and found...well...she wasn't certain what she found. The woman could have easily been of any ethnic group. It wasn't that she seemed of mixed blood, it was more like she sat on the edge of every ethnicity of the human race, coming together in an idealized whole that was...for lack of a better term...perfect in every physical detail.
"Who are you?" Shampoo asked suspiciously.
"Why," the woman said, sitting down next to Shampoo on the hillside. "I'm the answer to all your problems." Shampoo frowned.
"What do you mean?" Shampoo asked.
"Well," the woman said. "You see, Ranma Saotome is engaged to wed the Goddess, 1st Class Peorth."
"Ranma won't marry that man-stealing hussy!" Shampoo ranted, standing up.
"My employer is of a similar opinion," the woman said, smiling seductively.
"Your employer?" Shampoo said, blinking. "Who is your employer?"
"Well," the woman said. "Let's put this together. Your fiancee is in a heaven sanctioned engagement to wed a goddess, just who would be interested in seeing that NOT happen? Hmmm?"
Shampoo thought for a moment and then her eyes widened.
"You work for...the Yama Kings?" she gasped.
"Uh...uh...uh..." the woman said. "The Yama Kings are the judges and wardens of the universe's prisons under the Goddess Hel. They SERVE the heavens. My employer, and her employer seek to topple the heavens."
"I shouldn't be speaking to you, demon," Shampoo said.
"But you are aren't you?" the woman asked. "Sit down Xian Pu, my name is Lilith, we have an offer for you. You aren't going to be the only one getting this offer so you better listen quick. The rewards include a position with my employers and, if you do really well, your airen."
Shampoo stood still.
"You're defying the will of the heavens however you go after Ranma," Lilith said. "Don't you at least want some professional back-up?"
Shampoo considered it for a long moment before...
