Personally, he didn't like this situation at all. He understood Amaranth had her reasons for doing it, but a human as heir to a faerie kingdom - it just didn't sit well at all with him.
Silver saw the craggy figure of Gnorrsh quickly enough. A rock troll like him stood a little over eleven feet in height and was easily mistaken for a large boulder due to coloration and composition. Even the splotches of moss added to that effect. Despite being that massive, Gnorrsh moved quickly when he wanted to and his four arms were almost simian in proportion to the rest of his body. By using his lower arms and his legs, he could cover a lot of ground quickly.
"Oi, sahr, top of the mid-even to ye," said Gnorrsh at Silver's approach. "Checkin' up on the bairn, are ye?"
"Yes, the Queen wants a progress report," agreed Silver.
"Lots of talent, he has," said Gnorrsh. "Good potential. Eager student. Gimmee a couple o' yairs and I be having him tough enough to fight dragons."
"Here he comes," said Silver, seeing the boy turn the corner, dragging a large rock behind him.
"Loik I was sayin' sahr," said Gnorrsh. "Ye be expecting too much of a humble soljer loik meeself. This fragile little cub turned into a proper hero? Next thang you'll be telling me, is ye want me to beat down on the Midgart Serpent."
"I'd expect that if you were swallowed by the Midgart Serpent, it would die from intestinal blockage," said Silver.
Gnorrsh rubbed the back of his head, displacing some of the moss. "Now now, sahr, ye be turning me head with such praise."
"If anyone can do it, you can, Gnorrsh," said Silver. "I have confidence in you. Is that one of your kids?"
The "boulder" Ranma was dragging straightened an arm and waved.
"Aye, that be my daughter," said Gnorrsh, going into proud parent mode. "Reg'lar chip off'n the ol' block, ain't she?"
"The shard doesn't fall far from the boulder," said Silver.
"That be the truth," said Gnorrsh. "Now I be thinking he be ready for something a bit more challenging."
"Good, this is boring," said Ranma.
"What sort of training do you have in mind?" asked Silver.
"I be the champion in unarmed fighting," stated Gnorrsh, "in four kingdoms. So I be knowing a few things about his style - which is more speed and adaptability than strength and endurance. So, tomorrow he be starting training in-"
