Of course, she was always rather amused by the idea that her friend was actually married to someone from over there. His wife was associated with the college there, and the idea of Ranma being involved with a place of higher education was rather... silly. He was her friend, but he had never been much of a student, and so being able to go to such a school would have been a rather absurd assumption.
Fortunately, he hadn't been asked to be a student there, which was fine by him. Rather, he had merely been in that area on his training trip with his father. His old man had decided that the region around the school would make a great place to get some practicing time in, and they'd taken full advantage of it.
Oddly enough, Akane wasn't sure if she'd gotten the full story out of Ranma as to how he and his wife had met. She did know that it had been a complete accident, as he had mentioned that he hadn't expected to meet anyone like that, never mind the person who would be his bride. But then, she didn't want to pry, as other than being a story that she could coo over, there hadn't exactly been a reason to press for information. To do so would have been simply rude, and she didn't want to start with something like that.
Still, as far as she knew, the plan when his father had taken him away had been simple. His wife would stick around Nekomi, so that once he was finished with the training, he could return to her. Then they could live together as a married couple should.
Unfortunately, Akane's father and Ranma's father had made up a plan that they hadn't mentioned to their children. As a result of that, things were going to be rather problematic for a while, and she was certain that events were going to get a bit overwhelming for a while.
It had to be done though, as it was her only choice when regarding Ranma, and his wife, who was:
