???Ken: Shift Of Venue (DARK) [Episode 153626]

by Kestral

Sailor Pluto was appropriately horrified. Since this particular event occurred in Japan, when Ranma was five years old in 1985, there were no active Senshi to fight the horrors unleashed upon the world.

She decided that outright stopping Genma would be impossible, so she just tried to shift things a little. A decision to study elsewhere, far from Japan.

The niggling little idea was placed by the Garnet Orb, and Genma left Japan with the scroll and young Ranma.

Finally he decided on a training ground used by the ancient native people of North America.

Genma cast the summoning. The Gate opened.

Rather than have her own mind rent asunder, Sailor Pluto wrenched forward fifteen seconds to when the aperature had closed. It had been Genma's life that had formed the opening and awakened the sleeper on the other side. Genma's death closed both, though the sleeper was more restless for a time thereafter.

Fifteen seconds. Four seconds longer than it had been in Japan.

Sailor Pluto winced at the sight of what had occurred, but now the Senshi would have a chance to grow and live. Despite the earthquakes and tsunami triggered in the wake of The Event.

There was now a large passage from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. Travelling to the center merely proved that certain skeptics were wrong.

Setsuna recognized Ranma, despite the scar and the white hair, though the way he stared at nothing and shivered was new. He had been asleep and on the other side of the aperature, and he had been near enough to the center to be in the "eye" of this "storm" and survive. Yet not unscathed.

As for the Gap, that was an ovoid shape. Bordering the devastation were the remains of Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and a good section of New York. At its widest point, it stretched from the remains of Michigan to the islands that were all that remained of Mississipi and Alabama.

The earthquakes flattened most of the remaining structures in an area that stretched from Canada to Mexico, and when the devastation finally quelled a week after the Event - there was a passage formed by the shifting of the land that linked the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic.

It would take years for the ground to settle, even if people weren't fleeing the area due to the madness and monsters within the Gap and that inflicted the bordering areas.

As Sailor Pluto stared in horror at the increase in devastation, she saw also that:
