Ranma, at the center of the Wish, remembered his original past but would eventually find he could also remember this new past.
People shielded from the change, either by being off planet or at places like the Gates Of Time were likewise outside the effect. Though if they were to return to Earth, they might end up part of the new past as well.
However it happened, Ranma now had a number of devoted slave girls. Note that this didn't necessarily mean sex slaves, though it certainly could. It did mean that all of them were quite affectionate.
It also occurred that because Mihoshi was a ditz and very enthusiastic and helpful, that certain people who hadn't been officially engaged to Ranma now were his adoring slave girls.
Also due to Mihoshi filtering the Wish, a way to get around the fact that slavery was illegal in Japan and certainly considered immoral (though some areas like Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia didn't have those particular views) was needed.
With the result that:
