So, she let her Sight guide her, and she discovered that he was a martial artist like her brother. However, he was mainly trained in an unarmed style, and wasn't the loud mouth that Tatewaki was. In fact, he was kind of innocent, despite what his father was constantly going through, and had a very open personality. That interested her greatly, and she did have to admit that having contact with a boy like him was appealing. There just seemed to be something special about him, and she liked what she was seeing.
And then his Rune reacted to her Sight, and her eyes wide went as she started to get a sense of the import of what she was coming into contact with.
If there was someone that Akane Tendo did not like, it was Tatewaki Kuno. She seriously disliked the idea that boys could just think of her only in terms of their own fantasies as it was, but Kuno took that to an extreme. No matter what happened, he never understood that he had no reason for a lot of his delusions, and he was constantly driving her up the wall with them, mainly because she had a starring role in his little fantasy world.
About the only two people who she liked less than him were his parents for giving him his Rune.
"With the power of the very Heavens on my side, not even you can defeat me, fair Akane Tendo! But know this, I know the truth that resides in the heart that rests beneath your lovely bosom, and I shall honor it as best I can," Kuno declared, coming at her in what had become as routine as brushing her teeth was. "Thunder!"
She had long stopped yelping when he did that, as she had gotten used to that sort of attack. It wasn't exactly the sort of thing that she would ever feel safe about, but she knew that making even a sound of complaint didn't help. They wouldn't kill her, but they were a problem just the same.
Besides, she didn't want to go through yet another incident in what that did to her. One time, it had set a part of her hair on fire. Then there was the time that it had managed to tear big holes in her uniform, necessitating not only a purchase of a new one, but a great number of punches on drooling boys. And she sure as hell wouldn't forget the strong lightning strike that had left her having what had felt like a bad seizure, but had looked like something else.
So, she dived to the ground to avoid his lightning, dodged his bokuto strike, and managed to smash him in the jaw. "Idiot!"
"I thought that I was in that town...." Ryoga murmured to himself, scratching his head. As far as he knew, he'd only gone for a bit of a walk, and had wound up getting to be in some forest. It didn't even look like the same place, as it was a lot cooler than where he had been. But since he had a tendency to go to a lot of places that he didn't intend to, this was not a new thing.
That didn't mean that he wasn't exactly pleased with this situation though. Being lost was never any fun, and he spent a lot of his time travelling to find someplace where he could at least be comfortable. Unfortunately, it didn't seem that he would be able to get to find anyplace like that, and so he had to keep on going until he got out of the forest, or needed to find a camping spot.
But what he did find what was apparently an old cavern. He didn't intend to find it at all, and when he did, he didn't think that he could get past the seal. Yet, when he pushed at it in curiosity, he wound up shoving the blockage out of the way. That sent him stumbling inside, and he nearly fell as he did so. Only grabbing onto a pedestal that was inside the cave allowed him to stay standing up, and when he did that, he wound up slapping a hand onto the orb that was on top of it.
What he didn't know at the moment was that the orb contained a Rune, which happened to be:
