Among the powers that the True Runes had were Agelessness and a certain stamina. True Rune bearers might tire out as quickly or even quicker than others, depending on their Rune, but it was hard to keep them down when it came to disease or injury. Brisingamen had some other effects as well.
Charmed the life of Brisingamen's wearer,
In all the lands - none are fairer.
Cloaked in Spring - the bearer strides,
New growth abounds, and winter hides.
Genma's close association to Ranma had caused Genma to develop in ways that he himself remained oblivious too. Except for the full, thick, wavy, had strange girls wanting to run their fingers through it, hair that had sprouted from his scalp and now was bound in a simple ponytail. Genma's fat had also melted away somewhat. He still looked fairly stocky, but also more muscular and had a solidity to him that drew looks of envy from other men and rather different looks from various women.
Whenever they settled for a time in a region, fields began producing abundant harvests. Brewers would remark that their latest batch was the best they'd ever made and try to figure out what they'd done different. Lovers would pair off, the very air seeming to have a sort of promise in it. This sort of thing was common and widespread, and winters were especially mild in the bearer's vicinity. Beauty, Spring, and Fertility were all in Brisingamen's portfolio.
There were a great many lesser runes, and one of them was borne by the young lady paying attention to Ranma. Her name was Kodachi Kuno, and she bore a fairly subtle yet powerful rune - the Sight rune.
By concentrating her rune's power, she could see things not as they might otherwise be perceived - but as they really were. She'd gotten it when she was fairly young, her brother had demanded and gotten a Thunder rune, and her life had diverged rapidly after that. She entered business studies, finding fascination with herbs and medical uses for various compounds.
Had someone compared the Black Rose to this young lady, they might have come to the conclusion that they were distant cousins instead of the same person.
Kodachi Kuno was the young heiress interested in the family business, a sixteen year old who was passionate about Rhythmic Gymnastics, but such interests took second place to her interest in healing arts and the world around her.
It had taken a few moments to close her eyes and use the Sight, but when she did she became quite interested in the young man. She knew quite well what he had, what his father was like, and had some interest in the boy as well. Despite that he was physically two years younger than herself.
While all the medicinal uses of olive oil were quite interesting, this had further implications she needed to check into and making the boy's friendship would further her own interests. Besides, he was cute.
