Magic Prince Ranma: Dragons in the night. [Episode 15462]

by Greyman

As he snuck down the wall, then leapt to the cobblestone street, Ranma made out a shape in the darkness.  It looked like his flight had been anticipated, but he knew he could count on Mira not to give him away.  After all, if a paladin who could not trust his special mount to keep a secret, whom could he trust?

Then he made out a second, darker, figure hiding in the shadows beside her, and he groaned silently.  Tarre looked like a drow most of the time, but her shy-young-thing appearance belied the fact that she was a black dragon in disguise.  Yet, despite her race's repute as murderous brutes, Tarre was actually a rather sweet and naive brute. Having been rescued from goblins by heros at an early age, she was always trying to prove herself to other heros.

The silver and black dragons got along surprisingly well in the eyes of those who didn't know them.  Mira had sort-of adopted Tarre as a younger sister.  Ranma didn't have a problem with involving the second dragon in his capper, but he was worried that it meant there was a good chance that Mira had told the other 'girls' as well.

One thing that had been drummed into Ranma by Eilistraee's followers, among others, was that girls were not weak.  However it wasn't a streak of chivilry that made the boy want to leave those particular girls in the palace.  He wasn't exactly afraid of them, but those girls made him exceptionally nervous to be around at times.

Mira and Tarre were alright - he reguarded them as true friends and almost sisters.  They were safe, as it were.  Iris wasn't interested in him in that way either - if the beholder had any interest in marrying him it was as a celebrant, not the bride.  However, the other girls were clearly just waiting for him to grow up so they could make their move.  At fourteen, Ranma had very mixed feelings about having girl-friends, however nice they might be.
