In some schools, this would be a good thing. In the wake of the disasters, land here had been cheap (relative to the rest of Japan) and a school for 'square pegs' had been seen as a potentially good thing.
Technically it WAS a school. It was just some people felt it was more an asylum.
"IT'S A K-FIGHT!" declared some girl with a microphone, popping up out of a trashcan.
"A wha?!" asked Ryoga, wondering if this sort of thing happened all the time.
Genma was startled as camera crews suddenly started showing up all over the place. Finding himself shoved into a chair behind a table with a microphone in front of him was VERY startling. That somehow a rather large fellow in suit and tie had somehow popped into place without him noticing next to him was merely disturbing.
"Principal! Any comments on today's grudge match?" asked the microphone-wielder, addressing the suited fellow.
"It should be interesting," said the Principal, going into a 'Gendo Ikari' steepled hand pose. "Ryoga Hibiki practices a variant of Boar Style Bando, compared to Kusanagi's Kamui style."
"KAMUI STYLE?!" yelped Genma, shocked. He hadn't realized that style had survived.
"Oh yes, our color commentator today is Mister Genma Saotome - Saotome School Of Anything Goes Indiscriminate Grappling," said the Principal.
"...you know me?" asked Genma, hoping this didn't mean that he owed this guy any money.
"Uhm, this is a mistake?" tried Ryoga.
Shizuma Kusanagi cracked his knuckles and grinned.
"So," said Genma thoughtfully as Kusanagi charged forward, "at this school you actually encourage martial arts fights?"
"Indeed," said the Principal. "It's an important part of the curriculum."
Ryoga blocked the palmstrike with his umbrella, his eyes widening as he slid backwards from the impact.
"It looks like the Challenger is in trouble! Come on, let's see your strength!" called out the girl with the microphone.
"Looks like you can take it as well as dish it out," said Kusanagi. "Good. Day was going a bit slow."
"Martial arts battles are part of the studies?" asked Genma before covering his eyes with his forearm. "IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!"
"HEY!" said Ryoga, scrambling to the side as someone landed and created a crater where he'd been standing.
"I think it's time for me to get serious," said Kusanagi. "What do you think, guys? Is he up to it?"
"YEAHHHHHHHHH!" called out the crowd.
Ryoga swallowed and shifted his pose. He obviously was going to have to end this fast or this guy was going to actually manage to hurt him. The guy was just standing there, surrounded by little red flickers of light, a target he couldn't miss. He just needed to charge forward and crush this guy so he could go after Ranma!
