By the look on Barnette's face, it was clear that this wasn't on its way to being easily resolved. As the girl was already worried about what this boy might be bringing into the village, and was rather possessive of a certain blonde, the signs of a coming storm were not an indication of a mere temper tantrum. Since this situation wasn't innocent looking to begin with, that was not a good thing.
Or so that was what the pale catgirl told herself as she reached down, grabbed Ranma by the back of his shirt and yanked him off of the blonde.
"I'm.... I'm free?" Ranma babbled as he looked over to his rescuer. "Thank you!"
"You're welcome. But I mainly did that to avoid even more trouble," she told him.
"More than bein' stuck like that?"
Jura scowled at him. "Is that so?"
"Huh?"
"Did you think that I was ugly or something?"
"I...."
"You did, then," the blonde said with a dark expression passing along her features.
"Of course not! You're pretty! Really pretty!"
"Oh?"
"I.... I... just dunno what ta say...."
"I think what you did says a lot," Barnette grumbled. "Acting like that...."
"Didn't mean ta...."
"Like it'd be that easy to dismiss. And you didn't even notice that I was standing there watching."
"I didn't see ya.... But you're pretty too. Real nice lookin'."
"EH?!" went a very surprised Barnette.
"You're mad 'cause I didn't say how nice ya looked, right? So I figured that I'd tell ya so that ya wouldn't get more angry."
"But what about me?" Dita chirped, pointing to herself as she stepped over to where he could see her. "Don't you think that I'm pretty too, Mister Outsider."
"Uh... sure. You're a pretty girl, who cooks real good."
"You think so?"
"Yup."
"Thank you, Mister Outsider!"
The pigtailed boy noted on how this new tactic had seemingly made things easier for him, and realized that he was still being held by his shirt. Looking over at the girl that was holding him, he nodded at her. "And you're very pretty too."
Even though the other three Tribals had been caught up in their own reactions, each of them couldn't help staring at Meia's very visible blush.
This time, Genma was certain that he had the right plan for what he was doing. Before, he'd been trying for complicated strategies where disaster struck if one thing went wrong. What he had forgotten was that keeping a plan simple made it more likely that the actual execution of it would go well.
So, he had his pieces of equipment, which were pretty simple.
Acme Do-It-Yourself-Warfare Catapults - 3
'Feline Fun Bag O' Cat Toys (with catnip inside)' - Jumbo size
Spool of Rope
Sack
All he would have to do would be to put the cat toys on the catapults, and send them flying at the village. When those catgirls got all caught up in playing with the items that he'd sent, he would be able to run in, grab his son, tie the boy up, and carry him off in the sack. By the time that they realized that Ranma was gone, the two of them would be back on the path the training journey would have taken them if there had not been an interruption.
Nothing was going to mess his plans up now. He set the catapults up properly, targeted what looked like where a large clump of people were standing, and let his shot go. The toys sailed up into the air, and rained down on the people, but they didn't play with them. Instead, they turned and headed in the direction that the toys were coming from. He assumed that they had to be looking for more toys, as he couldn't think of another reason why they would ignore what he had already tossed to them.
As he watched, the figures came closer and closer to him, and grew bigger and bigger... but he did have to blink as he realized that they were getting bigger faster than he would have thought possible. It seemed like they were already big enough to be normal sized people, but they weren't next to him. He was certain that it had to be due to a trick of perspective, as people didn't get to be that size normally.
However, that was proven to be wrong as a group of men stood around him, with the shortest having to be at least seven feet tall. Each of them looked rather displeased, and were bearing bodies that had been toughened by years of hard work and exercise until they were tightly muscled mountains of men. When one of them cracked his knuckles, the Saotome patriarch was certain that he heard tree trunks being snapped in half.
Then one of them grabbed him by the collar and held up a fist.
Somehow, Genma was certain that he was in for a world of hurt, even with his martial arts prowess, while:
