Setsuna's Fault-OMG: Advising Mentor [Episode 156445]

by Kestral

"There, that ought to do it," said Keiichi Morisato.

"Yeah," said Haruka, revving up the engine a few times. She nodded. "Sounds good."

"You got to watch out for rivals like that," said Keiichi.

"Isn't that your sister over there?" asked Haruka. "Why are you helping me?"

"Because she wouldn't want to win by someone pulling dirty tricks," said Keiichi, wiping his forehead and accidently leaving a grease smudge. "If she loses in a race to someone because they're a better racer - that's another thing altogether."

Haruka considered the older boy before nodding. There were a lot of macho dorks in the race circuit, but she'd heard of Keiichi Morisato before now - and mainly that he was a "square shooter" and a good sport when he DID lose. Which wasn't that often any more, especially in the last couple of weeks since he'd gotten that girlfriend of his.

She hadn't thought Keiichi Morisato a bad fellow, one of those all-too-few nonjerks among the race circuit, but his girlfriend was WOW.

"Well," said Haruka, dismissing the matter for now, "as long as your sister forgives you when I beat her."

"Okay," said Keiichi.

"Though... I do want to ask you about Nekomi later," said Haruka. One had to think of one's future after all. "I hear about some of your races."

Ami sat down at the cafe, preparing to open a textbook for a little light reading.

Someone sat nearby and regarded her briefly, causing her to look up and wonder if this table had already been taken.
