Torajin: Strangely Expected [Episode 157141]

by Kender

"Kasumi? If you would?" Soun said as he looked over at his eldest child.

The brunette blinked and turned to look at him. "Yes, Father?"

"Could you just wait a bit on that. There is something that has to be handled as soon as possible."

"There is?"

"Yes, and I need to have a family meeting as soon as we can," he told her. "Would you mind getting your sister?"

"Oh my.... Certainly. Only.... Which one do you want me to get?"

"Ah. Right. You go get Akane. I'll get Nabiki."

"Of course, Father," Kasumi answered with a little bob of her head before she headed out towards the dojo, leaving her father to head upstairs.

Man strange things had been seen on the grounds of Furinkan High School. It was a place that had seen a delusional wannabe samurai make speeches like a feudal lord, half alien girls as students, and odd incidents that would be highly unlikely anywhere else. This was a place where the strange happened on a regular basis.

"Beautiful Iron DEBUT! Hahahahaha. Ha. Where is everyone?"

There just hadn't been any guys in leather pants, hat and gloves, with suspenders and white pancake makeup on their faces showing up at the school before.

"This is not so beautiful," Lord McCoy commented with a small pout as he looked over the empty grounds and school buildings. "Shouldn't there be students here at a school?"

"If you're looking to challenge someone, you came on the wrong day, son. This here is a day off for the kids who go here. School's closed today," commented a passing janitor.

"It is?"

"Yup."

"Oh." It wasn't every day that a overly muscled man in leather was left looking lost, but there was a first for everything.

Nabiki really did not like Tatewaki Kuno, and the feeling had always been mutual. A girl who didn't know him might have been swayed by his fortune, or his admittedly good looks, but the guy was as dumb as a rock, self absorbed, and living in some sort of warped sense of 'right'. She'd always considered him to be an idiot, and so long as she kept her expectations low, he had managed to keep up with them.

Right then, she lay on her bed and was trying to come up with every curse word that her rather extensive vocabulary had to call him, what with the swelling that she had now. Due to his actions, she, the girl who had always prided herself on being a thinker, rather than a fighter, had wound up getting hurt. Sure, she was stronger than the entire jock population of the school, but she wasn't a really physically active person.

Of course, that didn't matter to Kuno, who had always considered her fascination with other cultures to be 'unnatural'. His evidence for this had been the fact that she could speak foreign languages, and to him, that meant that she was being pulled away from her native, and 'proper', tongue. He simply could not understand that the world was not some series of fiefdoms any more, and that one had to be open to know such things.

The sound of a knock on her door only told her about the arrival of the person that she'd been expecting to come. "Nabiki? It's your father?"

"Hi, Dad," Nabiki replied, never rising from her bed. "I'm fine, it was nothing, and I can handle it. So, you shouldn't worry."

"Why would I do that?"

"Didn't Kasumi tell you what happened?"

"She said something about some swelling."

"Then you didn't come up here to press for an explanation?"

Her father sounded rather thoughtful. "Actually, I came here to tell you that I'm calling a family meeting, and I need you and your sisters to come sit with me."

"Oh. Okay. Umm.... I'll be down in a little bit."

"That's good."

"It's no problem."

"But.... Remind me to ask about what did happen."

A wince came across Nabiki's features as she realized that she'd just made her father concerned, which she had been trying to avoid. Sighing to herself, she hoped that she could fix it soon enough. As it was, she was going to have to deal with what her father wanted to talk to her and her sisters about. She just hoped that it had something appealing to an attractive teenaged girl who was looking to relax.

Surprised by his sneeze, Ranma put it down to having passed something that had made him do it. After all, he wasn't someone who normally got sick, and he didn't feel ill at all in any case. So he didn't think much of it.

However, he couldn't get past the feeling that he was heading for something that he wasn't expecting.

"WHAT?!" yelled all three Tendo sisters.

Soun winced under the force of the girls' shout. "My old friend and I made this arrangement back before you girls were born, and it's always been our dream to unite the schools. If one of you were to marry his son, then I would be very pleased."

"What is this boy like?" Kasumi asked.

Her pain momentarily forgotten, Nabiki grinned. "Is he cute?"

"I have no idea," their father replied.

"You don't know?"

"Unfortunately... no."

"You want us to marry some guy that you've never met?" Akane grumbled, wondering why she hadn't gotten a vision of this happening.

"I couldn't. You see, he had taken his son out on a training journey for some time, and then the boy went to study abroad."

"'Abroad'?"

"Yes. Apparently, he'd been educated in America."

"America?" the middle sister chirped, brightening a bit.

"Yes, and now he's coming back to study here, and to fulfill his side of the arrangement."

"There is just one problem that I can see Father," Kasumi murmured.

"And what is that?"

"Who is he?"

"Sorry about that," the Tendo patriarch replied. "My old friend is Genma Saotome, and the boy that one of you will marry is his son, Ranma."

Three sets of eyes blinked at him, while:
