"You mean that human blimp that was visiting last summer?" asked Akane.
Soun looked indignant. "I will not have you talk about -"
"The idiot who decided a lead allergy could be cured by dumping me in a lead-lined pit," said Akane with a dangerous tone to her voice. "REPEATEDLY?!"
"He was just being helpful," said Soun.
"I NEARLY DIED!" argued Akane. "It took weeks for the burns to heal!"
"Nonetheless, he is a guest," said Soun, "and an old family friend."
"Who nearly cost you a member of your family," pointed out Nabiki.
"Enough," said Soun. "He is coming here and his son Ranma will be... what are you doing, Nabiki?"
"Putting the name Ranma Saotome in the search function," said Nabiki. "Mom sent this computer last year, remember? I've been scanning things since then... ah."
"Hmmm?" asked Akane and Kasumi, crowding closer to peer at the display.
"Is he the bald guy with the beard?" asked Akane, with a little dread in her voice.
"No, that's that Russian wrestler Zangief," said Nabiki. "Ranma's the one with his legs around the guy's neck beating him in the head."
"Well, at least he's not a scrawny little weakling," said Akane, appraising the skill level as best she could. "Just relative to THAT guy."
"Three years ago, at the Gotham City Golden Fist Tournament," pointed out Nabiki. "So this is Ranma Saotome at thirteen, and apparently holding his own against one of the major contestants."
"Hmmmm," said Kasumi, speculatively. "Younger boys are generally boring, but it seems he might be well traveled at least."
"Gotham City? Isn't that where 'Batman' hangs his cowl?" asked Akane.
"Yeah, that's it," said Nabiki. "Batman showed up back in 1918, and so he's sort of that city's kami."
"I don't think that's quite it," said Kasumi.
CRASH!
"That sounded like the front gate," said Akane.
"That must be them," said Soun, getting up with an expression of joy.
