There was already a guy in her life who she was deeply in love with, and she wasn't about to choose anyone else. Ranma Saotome was the boy that she loved, and even if she still cared for, and appreciated what she'd had with her crushes, she wasn't about to claim that they were the same as with what she had with him. People might have been confused with what she, someone who was totally into science and inventing, was doing with someone so rough and tumble, but he was someone who she could rely on. He was dedicated, strong, brave, caring, and someone who would support her in whatever she did. As far as he was concerned, it was a good thing that she was so much smarter than he was, and he pronounced her inventions to be 'cool' with no hint that he was merely saying that to please her.
Then again, it did help that he was a really attractive guy who didn't have that stupid need to be perverted that so many mortal men, and gods, had.
For some reason though, she found herself thinking about him even more than she normally did. That wasn't to say that she didn't think about him a lot, without a single day going by when she didn't, but she knew that she was doing so more than usual. Added to that was a feeling of... anticipation, though she wasn't aware of anything that was supposed to be coming up. Both made working hard, and she had put down her screwdriver as she realized that she wasn't going to get any work done. Instead, she went over to her sister's garden, and merely strolled through it, not even letting the ring of a telephone interrupt her.
A call from her sister would always get to her though. "Skuld?"
"Yes, sis?" Skuld said, turning over to where Belldandy was standing on near the house. "Is something wrong?"
"Oh, no. Something is right."
"Huh?"
"That was Akane on the phone."
"It was? Nuts. It'd have been good to talk to her since we haven't had the chance lately."
"I know, and it would have been even better. She called up to let us know that her father called a family meeting."
The Norn of the Future blinked at her sister. "Is that important?"
"It is. He told them that a friend of his, Genma Saotome, was bringing Ranma to their house. Isn't that a nice turn of events?" Belldandy asked with a bright smile.
"Ranma.... Ranma's going to be at their house?"
"Yes, and she said that they're looking to help him get back here to you."
"She... did? Ranma's come here?"
"If they can manage it."
"Ahh! Ranma's coming here! I have to get ready! There's so much to do!" Skuld cried out in yelps as she bolted back inside. "I have to find the right dress and put on makeup! Urk! I need a bath!"
"What's her problem?" Urd commented as she strolled up to the middle sister.
Belldandy gave her elder sister a gentle look. "Ranma's father is bringing him to the Tendos' house, and Akane and her sisters are going to try to get him here as soon as they can."
"Oooh. So her hubby's coming back to her. Bet the squirt can't wait for that."
"You think so too?"
"'Course I do. And I bet that she can't wait to bring him into her bedroom."
"Urd!" the younger goddess admonished softly.
"Hey, I'm just calling them as I see them. Besides, I'm glad that the jock's coming back. The two of them are happy together."
"That they are. Love is so wonderful, isn't it?"
"It sure is. You have Keiichi, and Skuld has Ranma."
"And hopefully we'll soon be able to find a nice young man for you."
"URK!" Urd choked, staring at her sister's earnest expression, while:
