"Anything to declare?" asked the Customs official.
"'Declare'?" asked Ranma.
"Anything you are bringing in the country?" asked the Customs official.
"Myself. Two changes of clothes. Power regulatory skinsuit." declared Ranma.
"Other than your physical body and general personal effects?" asked the Customs official.
"No," said Ranma.
"No weapons, illegal substances, or the like?" asked the Customs official, wondering why HE got all the weirdos.
"I am a weapon," said Ranma.
"Oh, another martial artist nutcase," said the Customs official. Like that one that kept getting lost and wandering through here.
Ranma cocked his head at that, wondering what the unfamiliar terms meant. "I'm sorry, I do not have a small container filled with hard-shelled edible seeds."
"I'm sure," said the Customs official, stamping and embellishing. The sooner he got done here, the sooner he could go on break. And boy did he need one.
"Oh, here you are, big brother," said Hotaru, grabbing Ranma's hand. "We got seperated."
"Hmmm," said the Customs person. "Oh yes, business or pleasure?"
"Business," said Ranma.
"He's such a kidder," said Hotaru.
"What sort of business?" asked the Customs person, wondering what kind of weird answer he'd get from this martial artist.
"Guarding a princess," said Ranma, looking down at the little girl.
The customs official handed the papers back to the boy. Not such a weird answer after all. Just a weird older brother being affectionate to his more normal sister.
"So, welcome to my laboratory, hahahahahahahahaha," said Professor Tomoe, turning on the lights.
"Papa," chided Hotaru. "This is our home."
"Yes, but my lab's in the basement," countered Soichiro Tomoe. "Just wait till I get the proper tools."
"You are not taking Ranma apart," stated Hotaru firmly.
"But my tests, the research possibilities," said the Professor.
Ranma saw the disappointment and came up with a compromise. "What about my skinsuit?"
"Yes, I could take THAT apart!" said the Professor.
Ranma scanned the room, determining no threat potential was present.
"Ranma, you need to be more careful," scolded Hotaru, changing targets. "You need to remember what Papa and I told you!"
"I remember," said Ranma. "My name is Ranma Tomoe. I am your elder brother, who was born and raised overseas in the country of Texas. I am a martial artist. My hobbies are tea ceremony and flower arranging."
Hotaru frowned. "No. That was an example. You need to have other hobbies, not the one the girl on TV had."
"Other hobbies?" asked Ranma. "My mission parameters are to protect you."
"Martial arts can be one hobby," advised the Professor. "You need another though. How about quantum physics?"
Hotaru fixed her father with a flat look.
"What?" asked the Professor.
"Well, we can decide this later," said Hotaru, looking her 'big brother' over. "First we'll show you your room, then we need to:"
