It was a clear spring day as a young boy in blue gi tensed his body as his body shifted into that of a stance similar to Aikido before his opponent: a large tree-stump. His brown-furred tail waved behind him with intensity as he psyched himself up for what needed to be done. “Hnnnn...”
The young child with wild hair flexed his arms, showing rather defined muscle on arms that were otherwise so small and short. “PREPARE TO DIE!” He shouted as he shot his arms out, grabbing either side of the thick plant-life and started pulling with all his might.
It would have been an amazing sight for anyone around watching. The body was bent over, pulling at this tree-stump with more than ninety rings to it. His feet started to sink into the softer ground as his fingers dug into the bark as he pulled harder...
...And then the stump started to give way as the base of what had once been a tree started to pull free from the dirt, roots snapping and pulling up.
“HIYAAAH!” Was the child’s cry as he suddenly snapped his arms upwards, pulling the tree-stump free completely and launching it right into the air.
“NO ESCAPE!!!” The wild boy shouted, jumping up high into the air right after it, body twisting around like a whirlwind kick until his foot impacted with it. The force of the blow practically splintered the wood into various blocks in different shapes and sizes.
Landing deftly on his feet, the young warrior surveyed the damages. He nodded to himself at his handiwork. Nodding his head in satisfaction, he started moving around the area, picking up as many pieces as he could carry before heading over to a small stone house not far from where he’d pulled the stump free. Dropping the lumber atop a much smaller pile, the young man stood back and pat his hands together, dusting them off. “That takes care of the wood-chopping.”
Turning to his left, the small child went to the double-doors of the one-room cottage, the kanji adorning the set of large wood barricades were that of ‘Gohan’.
Walking towards the back of the room, the boy with a tail clasped his hands together and bowed politely before a pedestal which had a round sphere which seemed to have red stars inside of it. “Good morning, Grandpa,” He greeted the amber orb. “I’m hungry. I’m gonna grab some breakfast, okay? See you later!”
Standing back up, the boy smiled as he grabbed a red pole on the floor by the small bed and started rushing out of the house. “What would be good to eat this time...” the boy mumbled to himself as he headed towards the morning sun.
(------)
Britanny Elin Diggers yawned as she sat in the passenger’s seat of the small jeep that her father rented from the village before they started going into the valley. It had been a very long journey with only miles of forest around. Usually Britanny would be in school during this time of the year, but...
...Well... That explosion wasn’t her fault! Really! How was she to know that air vent she stuffed that fatass bully Bobby Sherman into was the main air-vent for the school’s furnace? She didn’t mean to burn down half the school, REALLY!
Ah well, at least it meant she could stay in her hybrid form all day and wouldn’t have to deal with cruddy books or homework for awhile, even if she was being ‘home-schooled’ by her father.
Her father, Dr. Theodore Diggers however, was more focused as their vehicle continued to journey along. He had yet to explain the meaning of this journey to his thirteen-year-old daughter, mostly because he didn’t want to get her hopes up.
But if all went well... They could get Julia back.
“But first, I need to find that third Dragonball,” Theo thought. With the five-star and two-star Dragon Balls in his possession, he had a link to try and follow to find the others.
And they were getting closer.
However, Theo was so intent on following this path of magic, he barely noticed the boy right in front of him. He slammed his feet on the break.
Britanny yelped out in surprise as she was flung forward slightly. She would’ve been sent flying from the jeep if she weren’t wearing a seat-belt.
“WAAH!” The boy cried as he jumped back, dropping the fish he was carrying that appeared to be bigger than him, as he looked at the vehicle in shock.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Theo spoke up as he looked over the windshield, since it was an open-roof vehicle. “Are you all right?”
“Wuh-wha-what is that animal?” The wild-haired boy asked as he recovered his wits and glared at Theo. “Are you some kind of witch?”
Undoing his seatbelt and opening the side door, Theo stepped out of the jeep. “Mage, actually...”
The boy gritted his teeth and un-slung a staff from behind his back. He held it in his arms in a ready stance. “Don’t get any closer!”
“Woah, easy,” Theo held up his hands defensively. “I’m not trying to cause a fuss here. I’m sorry about before. I was kind of spacing out there, and didn’t realize you were in front of me until we were close.”
The kid blinked and lowered his staff slightly. It was a comical sight, seeing a boy so young assuming a threatening air. “Who are you?”
“Dr. Theodore Diggers,” Theo said as he continued to look the boy before him over. Something about this kid seemed off. He could feel the strength seemingly radiate form the small frame, and knew that the best route for now would be to not mess with him. “I’m on a drive into the forest to try and find something.”
The boy blinked his eyes in surprise. “You’re looking for something?” It was then that he caught sight of Britanny, who was staring curiously at him.
Britanny tilted her head as she looked at the younger kid. She could only wonder why her daddy seemed threatened by him. He didn’t seem that tough to her.
The kid continued to stare at Britanny, seemingly entranced by her feline looks.
Britanny managed to grin and waved at him from the car.
Not knowing what to do the boy imitated the gesture, waving back.
Theo nodded at the sight. It seems his daughter had gotten the boy’s mind off from any hostile thoughts. “To answer your question, child, yes, I am. Something very special. Tell me, have you seen any golden orbs with red stars on them?”
Taken out of his thoughts at the question, the boy blinked his eyes as he stood straight. “You know my grandpa?”
Theo blinked his eyes at that, not expecting such an answer. “Your grandfather? No. Why? Does he own what I just described?”
“But you were talking about my grandpa...” He narrowed his eyes, hands tightening their grasp on the pole. “Are you here to take him away?”
“Depends...” Theo said, confused. “I’m not sure what you mean when you say it is your grandfather. Could I possibly meet your grandfather? Perhaps I could explain things to him.”
Britanny continued to watch the interaction between her father and the younger kid. Perhaps this little spikey-haired kid with the tail could help...
...Wait a minute. A tail?
Britanny leaned forward to get a better look from her seat. “Yep. He has a tail.”
The kid seemed to consider Theo’s words for a moment before he relaxed once again. “Grandpa always said to be good with guests.”
Theo smiled. “Well, that is a good thing. Would it be all right to follow? Or would you care to go for a ride and just point out the direction to go?”
“You can follow me. We have to walk through the forest,” the boy said as he walked over to the big fish and picked it up effortlessly.
“Walk?” Theo looked to see a somewhat clear path through the brush and nodded his head. “All right.” He turned towards the jeep and called out, “Britanny, we need to leave the car for a bit.”
The werecheetah nodded her head and stepped out of the car, revealing herself to the younger boy for what she was. A very feline-like being with a bright gold fur with black spots and a tail!
“Woah! You have a tail, too!” The boy shouted as he pointed to the appendage waving behind the girl.
Britanny nodded her head. “Yeah... Is that a bad thing?”
He wagged his own tail unconsciously and walked closer to the taller girl to look up at her. “I don’t have cat ears.”
“Well, I don’t think you’re a werecat,” Britanny grinned pleasantly. She held out her hand in greeting. “I’m Britanny Elin Diggers, but you can call me ‘Cheetah’. What’s your name?”
“I’m Goku Son,” He answered and, not knowing what to do, took her hand in his own.
When Goku did that, Britanny wrapped her fingers around his hand and shook his hand gently. “Nice to meet you, Goku.”
Goku blinked at that and, in understanding, tightened his grip and started to shake as well.
Britanny’s eyes widened. This kid had a strong grip! And she was a lycanthrope!
Theo smiled from his position, watching as his daughter hit it off with the boy. If only he knew...
“Ahem,” Theo coughed into his hand to get the attention of the two. “Could you please lead the way, Son Goku?”
“Uh...” Goku turned to Theo. “Okay!” He let go of Britanny’s hand and walked over to the fish before starting off right into the woods.
Britanny smiled as she eyed the large fish Goku half-carried, half-dragged. Boy, that sure looked YUMMY!
