However, their father moved first. "Nabiki! How could you be worried at a time like this?"
"Plenty of reasons," the middle Tendo daughter replied dryly.
"But these two are welcome guests...."
"I know /that/."
"Then what could be the problem?"
"How you came out to see him," Nabiki told him. "I don't think that a respected member of the community should be acting like a giddy schoolgirl."
"I am not a girl," Genma informed her as sagely as possible.
"I should hope that you are not, otherwise my father would be blind, and you would have to be the ugliest female around. A girl that looks like a guy? Scary thought."
"Oh."
"I've actually seen someone like that. Nice person, even if she isn't exactly the most... fancy of people," Ranma commented.
"Really...." the short haired girl murmured, looking towards her younger sister.
Akane snorted and crossed her arms over her chest. "I don't think that he meant /me/."
"Nah, I didn't," the pigtailed boy confirmed. "It was a village of warrior women. Interestin' place, ya know."
All three sisters nodded, both in the obvious acceptance of his words, and to the reference that the fathers wouldn't get.
"Good to see that you are already getting along with them, boy," the portly Saotome commented.
Soun went wide eyed with dismay. "That's right! I haven't introduced you. This is my friend, Genma Saotome, and his son, Ranma."
"We got that much," Akane muttered.
"Ah... right. Well then, may I present my daughters. Kasumi, who is nineteen, Nabiki, who is seventeen, and Akane, who is sixteen."
"Nice ta see ya," Ranma told them, in complete honesty.
"It is nice to have you here," Kasumi said for herself and her sisters.
"I'm glad to be here to," Genma put in.
"I'm sure that you are."
"Well, yes, after all that travelling...."
"In any case, I'm sure that this would all be more comfortably done inside," the eldest Tendo said.
Nodding, Soun found himself proud of his daughter's skill as a hostess, and let her lead the group in, while:
