Tarre was willing, but in her natural form of black dragon - her wings were not built for precision flight or long distances. She also preferred human form, though the magic item she used to maintain it would only work for eight hours a day.
Ranma might have preferred using martial arts, but he knew quite well that a dragonrider had duties as well. And so he had spent long hours learning the use of the composite bow. He'd snuck out without his usual weapons, as his original plan hadn't involved the two girls or the spelljammer, but they likely wouldn't be happy if they found out his real plan had been to see for himself about this chef girl who apparently was looking for him.
Ranma and the two dragons flew from the city, over farms and one mountain range, and finally caught sight of the wreck. Unexpectedly, he was able to determine it was a:
