Fae World: Having Had Nothing [Episode 158997]

by Kender

Fate was not being very nice to Genma Saotome at all. As it stood, his son had disappeared to somewhere, and he had no idea of where that was. For all he knew, the boy could be anywhere between where he'd been, and Antarctica. But that wouldn't help him at all, given that the only place that he needed his son to be was at his side. With no son to raise, there would be no future, with the school never continuing, the promise with Tendo not happening, and a royally angry wife to contend with. Considering the fact that he certainly wanted to keep all of that from happening, it wasn't exactly like he could leave things as they were.

Unfortunately, things weren't exactly working out for him. At first, he'd tried simply looking in the area for the boy, in the hopes that his son had merely managed to run and hide, or if he'd rolled to a spot where he couldn't be easily seen. When that hadn't worked, he'd tried to spread his search further, but that didn't seem to work. And there were no portals or gateways that he'd found for a path to wherever his son was.

So, he was stuck in a rather bad position. He couldn't go home, since his wife would literally cut him off if he told her the truth. That would then preclude even the last resort of trying to have another heir, and any excuse that he'd come up with would have to be really good, as if she had reason to believe someone else, she'd start making with the beheading. Telling the police would probably get him into trouble, both with the officers, and with his wife, who they would no doubt inform of the situation. Trying to figure out a way to use magic to get his son back wouldn't be an easy thing, but it could be the only way to get the boy back if his son had been zapped somewhere else. He'd even considered the possibility of merely getting another 'son' to replace the one that he had lost, though he was certain that Nodoka would notice a change.

With that as his situation, he knew that he was in for some serious trouble. His boy was no longer with him, and as a result, everything was screwed up. It wasn't going to be easy to deal with, even though he certainly wished that it would be. Not even the attempts to get drunk enough to forget his troubles were working.

And the hangovers were a bitch of an addition to an already heavy trouble load.

Whimpering to himself, he hoped that his son was in a position where they could look back at this time together, and laugh at the silliness of it.

Arshes Nei pulled her cloak around herself and stepped lightly to the edge of the rise that she was standing on. Her long legs made it look graceful, and the landscape before her gave her a lovely landscape to look at. But she wasn't paying any mind to something as simple as 'land' at the moment. There were rumors and whispers to pay attention to.

"The Queen has claimed a human boy as her Heir...." she murmured to herself. "He must be interesting...."

She knew that if the Queen was planning on taking such a step, the boy in question had promise in some way shape or form. There was no way that someone simple could hope to rule properly, and so he'd need to have some skills. Of course, she hadn't exactly come the most... noble start, but then she had her own special abilities, and a mentor who'd truly taken care of her.

Now, she recognized that this boy was in a similar position, as they both were rising from meager situations to gain a sizable amount of power, though he was getting to go very high. Her only question was on how to deal with it. If she took advantage of it, she could push her way to even higher levels. But then again, she had a bit of an urge to actually help the boy. Perhaps it was her own origin, but she was feeling fairly connected to someone who had just started with nothing.

"Hmmm.... What to do...." she thoughtfully whispered, narrowing her eyes just a tiny bit in concentration, while:
