Sailor Pluto felt behind her touched the silver and pink glowing cord that led from her back. She looked at Mars and Saturn who also had the same cords leading from their backs. The two of them nodded at her and turned their faces upwards. Pluto looked around and nodded at the beautiful crystalline and metal homes that were around her. Sailor Venus walked up and looked up at the sun shining down on them. Instead of the sun being yellow it was bright silver and giving off pink light. Nine long cords led down from it.
"Is this wise?" Venus asked. "Usagi is still upset."
"That's why we're going to tell her. She needs to know. She also needs to improve herself," Pluto countered.
The other Senshi and Tuxedo Mask waited. The sun dimmed down to a fraction of its power and in the middle of the buildings a pink light formed. The light faded, revealing Eternal Sailor Moon.
Usagi looked around. "Crystal Tokyo? No, there's something wrong here."
Pluto walked up and shook her head. "There is nothing wrong, Usagi. This is where we live and it is not Crystal Tokyo."
"Setsuna, what are you talking about? Shouldn't..."
Pluto smiled. "We're the Senshi who were killed by Galaxia. The 'ghosts' you can call upon by using the reflections of our Star Seeds. After our Star Seeds merged with you, we built this home in your mind."
"In my mind? Reflections?" Usagi asked in confusion.
Mercury spoke up. "When you faced Galaxia at the end, the brooch was missing and only the Silver Crystal was on you and it was attached directly to your chest. Our Star Seeds merged with you at that time. The crystals on the brooch and seen lying loose are just reflections of our Star Seeds, like the Silver Crystal is a reflection of your Star Seed when you are using it as Sailor Moon. The real Star Seeds are inside you."
Usagi noticed the cords leading from the backs of her friends. "What's with those cords?"
Mercury pointed up. "This is sort of mental plane and that sun/moon up there is your Star Seed. The cords that lead into us draw energy from your Star Seed and nourished our own. The cords are wrapped around your Star Seed several times forming a powerful net."
"Yes. It is strong enough to keep your Star Seed as well as our own inside of you, even if you get hit by Galaxia's dammed bracelets at full power," Jupiter said with a growl.
Sailor Saturn stepped forward and Usagi noticed she was much taller. "With your permission, I'd like to use the body I had as Mistress Nine."
"Uh sure," Usagi said in a bit of confusion.
"Thank you, Usagi. The reason you are here now is we want to end your nightmares," Saturn said.
"You died. Everything in the galaxy died. How can you make me forget that?" Usagi demanded.
"This isn't to forget what has happened, it's just to end your nightmares. I broke my oath on the sanctity of the Time-Stream," Pluto said. "While we were still in transit from being freed from Galaxia, I came up with a plan. Instead of returning to life, we would merge with you and use the combined power to send you back to the beginning of your Sailor Moon career. The side effect is that we became ghostly servants of sorts that you call upon."
Usagi flinched as she screamed, "Why?!"
Saturn in a sad voice said, "Because, everyone else would still be dead. There would only be the ten of us. Naru, Umino, Haruna, your parents, my father, and others would all still be gone. We're not dead. We're just living in a new way. We can advise you and help you out. When you get stronger, you should be able to manifest us all physically, but we will still be a part of you."
"I'm going to restore you all to life," Usagi said with a firm resolve.
"NO!"
Usagi blinked as all nine 'ghosts' shouted in unison.
"Usako, the Chaos possessed Galaxia is very strong. This plan gives you the needed strength and defense to free Galaxia from Chaos. Hopefully, our younger selves will be strong enough to shield the Earth from Chaos blasting free of Galaxia," Tuxedo Mask said.
Sailor Venus shuffled her feet and looked up at Usagi's Star Seed. "There is another reason. Our younger selves have a chance for peace that we never got. If you bring us back, they lose it. In my case, I hid a lot from all of you and have regrets. My younger self needs to be convinced it is a self-fulfilling prophecy and only has power over her if she believes in it."
"I don't understand," Usagi said.
Venus gave a sad smile. "You'll have to press my younger self for the details. By forcing her to admit to it to someone else, it should help her open up more to the others. That is the reason you can't summon me for very long, you don't really know me."
Usagi made a mental note to press the younger Minako about a prophecy and plans to get to know the 'ghost' Venus better. She also made another mental note to keep practicing until she could call all nine of her friends physically out at once.
"Usako, the Dark Generals are not evil. They are like me when I was being controlled by Beryl," Tuxedo Mask said. "They were my friends and allies in the Silver Millennium, like the Sailor Senshi are for you. Please save them after you rescue Hotaru."
"I'll give it my best shot," Usagi said. "I just don't understand why all of you would do something like this."
Pluto shrugged. "You are our best friend and we want to make sure you wouldn't be miserable. One of the potential futures for you shows that you are still alive and we all died over the centuries and you started to lose the ability to care, since all of your friends had died. As we are now, we will live as long as you will and die when and if you do die. This is a sacrifice we have willingly made. At any rate, we've kept you long enough. You should get to the dream we have planned for you."
Usagi felt tears on her face, as she whispered. "Thank you."
Eternal Sailor Moon faded out and went off to the dream that Pluto, Saturn, and Mars had prepared for her. Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Senshi closed their eyes as each of their cords flared pink.
Saturn spoke for all of them "We love you too, Usagi."
