"That's good to hear," Ami replied with a small nod of satisfaction. "If nothing else, it will mean that they won't be caught by surprise."
"Actually, she said that they will be wanting her to come. And she wants the rest of us to go there too."
"She wants us to visit?"
"They do like us."
"But you are right about something, dumpling head. It'll be better to have them come here," Rei commented.
The cram school student sent an understanding gaze to her raven haired friend. "This way, we don't have to deal with the interference of their father and Ranma's."
"Too true."
"Still, it'll be nice having Rei argue with someone else," Minako put in.
Rei scowled at the girl. "What do you mean by that?"
"There is how you and Nabiki get along."
"That's right," the reincarnated princess sighed. "The two of you are always making comments at each other, aren't you?"
"We're just.... She just gets under my skin, that's all," the shrine priestess grumbled.
"Every time?"
"Yes, 'every time'. We just seem to argue, even if we don't dislike each other or anything."
"Interesting relationship, isn't it?" Setsuna murmured.
"So? Anything of it?"
"Nothing really. Just seemed intriguing to me."
"Well, I'm sure that we can get along."
"And we can have a party!" Minako chirped. "Let's get it really ready!"
"No booze, Mina-chan. At all."
"It would have been just for a toast."
"It's not yours, and the only thing worse than making an ass of yourself when you're drunk is what comes after."
Minako huffed slightly. "You're no fun...."
The table was set, the family was dressed, and the only thing left was for the guests to come. None of them had any trouble with believing that they would come, though for different reasons. It wasn't totally dull, as they had things to anticipate, but there was nothing to do at that moment save for waiting.
But once there was the sound of heavy thumping on the door, it was clear that the quiet was over. "Tendo! I'm here!"
"Saotome! Friend! Brother!" Soun cried out, and raced down the hallway, looking less like a respected member of the community, and more like an over-eager kid.
"You want to go?" Akane asked the sister next to her.
Nabiki gave her a droll look. "Why don't you go after him?"
"When he's being so embarrassing?"
"Then why should I have to go?"
"Why don't we all go?" Kasumi asked gently, and guided her sisters over towards the front door, where they knew that their friend and his father were waiting, while:
