Bambar nodded. "That's it."
"So do that - then drain the excess energy, they give us this 'money' stuff, and they go away happy?" asked Thumpa, scratching her head.
"That's right," said Bambar. "Here, I'll show you how it's done. Just look for someone like... that guy."
It had been slow at first, but as Usagi continued to practice - she got better at it. Now she had an angle to approach that blue-haired girl with on their next schoolday. She was trying to get her studies up, right? So this genius gal probably knew some studying tricks or something so she could remember that junk. All she had to do was learn that and she'd be covered.
Today was a day off though, so most of it was spent practicing. Finally she decided she'd done enough there and it was time to see to her student.
"We don't get many talking cats in here," said the barman, the toothpick hanging from one lip bobbling about as he spoke.
"At these prices I'm surprised you get any at all," said Luna. "Gimee another."
The bartender stopped short of pouring the Kahlua & Cream. "Ya sure ya can handle it?"
"Oh yeah, like I'm going to drive later?" sarcastically snarled Luna. "Hello? Cat? No opposable thumbs here!"
Shrugging, the bartender went ahead and poured the drink. As long as she could do that backflip thing and pay, who was he to argue?
"Whoa," said Thumpa. "I'm stuffed."
"Me too," said Flowa.
"Me three," burped Strontium.
"And the boss lets us keep all the energy we harvest, as long as we don't hurt nobody," said Bambar, settling into place on a chair.
The doors opened, Usagi came in, and slowly came to a stop. "Huh?"
"Hey, boss," said Sayuri/Bambar. "This here's Flowa, Thumpa, and Strontium. They're ready to swear loyalty to you."
"Uhm, let's go with human names," said Usagi/Ranma. "You'll be Yuka, you'll be Miyo."
"What about me, boss?" asked Strontium.
Usagi sighed. He'd never keep 'em straight if he didn't give them the names he'd known them by in a past life, it was just a little difficult to look at this gal with the British accent and know this was actually a monster's human form. Especially when this person had been around Ranma so often, it'd be difficult to remember that the original had been in another life entirely. "You'll be:"
