"But you gave the others Japanese names...."
Usagi's mouth twisted to one side. "Then... you don't like it?"
"No! No. I'm just curious, that's all. With the sudden change, it seemed to be odd...."
"Ah.... Well, the thing is that ya remind me of someone that I... knew. So, I was thinkin' 'long those lines when I came up with your name."
"Ohh...." the blonde yoma murmured in sudden understanding.
"Still...."
"What?"
The human cocked her head to one side. "What's with the get up? Ya look like ya are tryin' ta be some kinda scientist."
"But I am!"
"'Cuse me?"
'Shampoo' smiled at her new mistress and smoothed her labcoat over a bosom that was at least as large as her namesake's had been. "You know how the generals have those devices that they use in their plans?"
"Yeah, I think that.... Wait a minute. Ya ain't sayin' that you're...."
"I was one of the ones who worked on that sort of thing."
"Except that she was more of a technician than an actual designer," Yuka commented.
Miyo shrugged. "But she isn't exactly dumb, and can grow past that level."
"Not that the generals were going to give me that chance," Shampoo groused. "They don't want to have better equipment. They want to practice scheming and ranting to themselves. Have you ever heard an idiot stand around barking to himself because something hasn't gone his way?"
"Trust me on this one. I know what you're talkin' 'bout," Usagi admitted, thinking of a particular wannabe samurai.
"It is embarrassing to have to have someone like that in a senior position to your own...."
"That it is. But ya do have ta realize that there is one good thing 'bout where those sorts of guys are right now."
"Oh? What's that, Boss?"
"Simple. You're gonna be workin' for me, so ya don't have ta pretend like ya respect those guys, or even be 'round them when they start babblin'."
All three of the new yoma nodded in agreement... and then realized the same thing at the same moment. With that one sentence, they'd been told about their positions in the scheme of things. It told them that they were accepted by their new mistress, and they couldn't stop themselves from reacting.
The trio smiled with pleasure at the idea, and any rigidness in their postures just melted away, while:
